Hopefully Mack prefers the milder Western climite.

I suspect that the price for Mack will be higher for the 49ers than other teams due to Jim Harbaugh's pettiness. Jim is good buddies with the GM and if he tells the GM to jack up the price, specifically for SF, then that may prevent Mack to SF. Hopefully I'm just paranoid.

Lets hope Mack hates the bears and doesn't want to go back to them then lol...

How is it that the player is getting to decide if/where he's traded? All of these dudes have no trade clauses? I know the Colts were doing Buck a solid by trading him where he wanted to go, but ultimately, does it matter?

You're giving up a draft pick for a big risk.

The player can no show if he wants, which is rare, but he can fake an injury, half ass it and just get benched, while still collecting a paycheck.

And obviously it's bad for the locker room trading for a guy that doesn't want to be on the team.

He would be better than a couple WRs that have been forced to play meaningful snaps.

Also, who's actually available to move the scale and what's that cost vs how much the scale would move?

I forgot about Watkins. Would Allen beat out Watkins for snaps as 5th on the depth chart? idk

I'd rather just play Watkins than bring in another old WR, I also think Watkins has huge upside

Given Evans' fragility, Watkins would be more like a 3/4 on the depth chart. I agree he has shown enough to consider him a part of the team going forward.

Of course, the same argument could be made for bringing in Allen. I just don't want to give up a draft choice, even if a 3rd day, for a half year rental that is no more than a 4/5 guy.

His Hawaii teams were fun

in 2011, ASU fired Dennis Erickson. DE had started off hot, had a special skill for recruiting gems but his teams were totally undisciplined and sloppy.

the most prominent asu booster was an SMU alum, and he convinced the AD to hire June Jones. Jones had brought SMU back to winning with back to back conference titles.

asu boosters revolted and pulled the contract. ASU instead hired Todd Graham. Which would eventually lead to Kenny Dillingham

strange note in June jones history

I almost forgot that ASU fiasco happened. I'm willing to bet that Jones would have had success at ASU. Too bad we never got to find out.

You just answered your own question with that Buck comment.

we were too enamored with the nfc west that didnt see the north coming

probably one of the best divisions in history along with ours last year, but they really have a chance to put all 4 in the playoffs.

key only weakness in those teams:

vikings - qb and running game

bears - dbs

lions - defense, but they are getting healthier now so...

packers - special teams and jacobs

Well let's see how the season goes - no way it's as good as last years NFCW. lol 3/5 of the true contenders came out of our division, def top 2 contenders did. Lol

Packers Don't worry me, lions are nothing to be scared of. Vikings defense is worrisome but that's it. Bears are a problem.

overall, let rhe season play out. If we can get healthy, I'll take us every time. Only issue is it'll be really hard to out score the bears without Evans. Really hope the Achilles gets better.
By the time we could play the Bears we could have all our receivers except Pearsal. With Evan's, DRob ,Debo and maybe Stribling I like the matchup. CMC and Kittle just adds more to the equation. Now that is what I'd like to see. Long way to go but that could be our offensive weapons in the playoffs

Downs and Malik Washington would certainly be good enough to be WR3 in this offense, and both return punts.

Idk if Xavier Hutchinson is good enough to be WR3 for us.

Yeah it's closer to 3 weeks of non-contact rest.. he's probably still actively doing something

So are you saying trade just to trade?

Sounds like you want to swap 4th/5th depth guys for Allen.. that's a waste

if no one is available then no one is available

I'm seeing people suggest we should trade for Pickens or Ceedee.

Funny. And probably less likely than Garrett Wilson (especially since we play the Cowboys right after the deadline).

Pickens makes no sense when you can't extend him right now and on a second franchise tag it's a huge increase, making it way way too tough to be able to retain him,
I also doubt the Cowboys trade Lamb, these trade ideas are just crazy and stupid, teams don't normally trade these types of players T the deadline

Does Jim actually hate Kyle/John? I know he disliked Baalke and certainly Jed, but Jed is the only one still around (obviously).

Jim hates Jed since Jed chose Trent Ballke over him.
