that's the importance of special teams it's a true 3rd of the game, pretty sure it set up the gracen touchdown

Niner Talk » Corliss Waitman - Punter

We forced multiple turnovers to Seahawks this last game because of outstanding defensive plays. Seattle's defense only did it once which is the Brock's throw, the muffed punt and Deebo's fumble were all giveaways in my opinion. My point is, Seattle is beatable if all the 49ers important players are healthy. I went back to the first game of the season last year where we beat Seattle, K9 was there but we also had Bosa, Warner, etc. I know Seattle will come stronger when we meet them the second time around but a healthy and complete defense roster to go along with a healthy and complete offense roster, will beat Seattle and it doesn't matter if they're coming from a bye or whatnot.

Not sure why we have to down one guy to prop up anpther?

Look at what Salah had to work with last year. Its unfair to judge based off that. Morris has been great too.

it's what dre gets you do not use your helmet as a weapon on someone without a cover on i think shanny enjoys having an enforcer

he's just a whole different animal the missing piece like prime was in 94

Screw him. He quit on the team before the divisional game last year. Enjoy your little dumpster fire franchise. It'll be the last head coaching job you'll ever have

No he didn't, I know this guy personally. He didn't quit on the team, just chasing his own dreams since there can only be 1 head coach on each team. RS is a great man that has helped a lot of people reach their dreams and now he's chasing his.

Not everyone that leaves is an enemy or a bad guy.

Totally agree. Pretty cool that you know him and I can totally understand chasing the dream. Head coaching is 1 of 32. Also, this waiting around for the right job sounds great, until you really think about it. What job is the right job? The 49ers were a dumpster fire of a job in January of 2017. So were the Houston Texans in January of 2023. I'm hoping the Titans are patient enough, because there are some signs of life in spite of the 0-5 record. If they had any kind of offense, they could be a fringe playoff team given how well the defense has played with absolutely no offense (11 ppg is putrid).

I really like him as a coach. I just don't understand why he would take that job. If i was him i would of been ultra selective on the next head coaching job I took because it would probably be his last chance if it went sideways. Don't be surprised when he ends up as McVay's DC next year.

Hope that doesn't happen. I want to root for him.

I like JJ but he doesn't really solve our problem besides having a body. he doesn't get separation, which is our biggest issue outside of Evans. I'd rather try and get someone that gives us a better chance at being able to get separation. I wouldn't be upset if we got Jennings but by EOY, what's his contribution? Evans, Strib, Cooks, Robinson, Wakins, Cowing, Deebo.

how much do you want to invest in a guy whos most likely your WR5 or 6? He's a really good WR4/5. Just have to be careful. I wouldn't be upset, maybe he can go back to his old role such as 2023 and shine again. he def shoudn't be WR1 or 2, IMO.

I disagree, he can separate as a route runner. Similar to Evans. He catches everything, has a rapport with Brock and blocks his ass off. He very much a vibe like Deebo is.

not sure who people expect to get in a mid season trade that's gonna magically be our WR2? We got multiple WRs coming back in the next couple weeks….no one is asking to give up anything to get him. Conditional late rd pick or swap.

I think you've answered yourself unwittingly.
Can't chase old vibes..

and no he wasn't getting separation. 7 of Purdy's 10 INTs in 9 games were thrown to JJ

the very least if JJ comes back is if he's released and I would probably convert him to TE2 so he can block and beat LBs in coverage

Good points

Explain
You're right that no team will trade their #2 let alone a potential #1 WR because they themselves will need him going forward. Unless it's a Harrison Jr. type that is considered to be a bust.

Also, if one is acquired it has to be someone that will complement Evans and takes the top off to pull the safety occasionally away from Evans in my opinion.

And, why do that like you said when 3- 4 of the guys that they planned on having to begin with will start coming back in a couple of weeks.

Plus, Redskins are good but not Seahawk defense, Falcons are good but not Seahawk defense.

Extend him 3 yrs $49M

I bet KW was pissed after this one. He got an effort sack earlier, but he left the clean win one on the field.

I've been saying they need to extend him asap before he gets expensive. Dude has been winning since week 1, and he does it from every spot on the DL. Teams are going to overpay for that when it's time for free agency.

So true

I guess it's later since he's been doing it ever since he's been playing. Both in college and pros. Anyone can get hurt but some guys are just built different. When he and Stafford were standing together before the coin toss in overtime he made Stafford who is 6'3" look small. Amazing how fast Allen is for a guy that size. He's almost more dangerous when he runs than when he throws.
Idk he was getting up slower and slower after every run. It all adds up
