He was going up against what was the norm for the time. Tackles are literally better at what they do now because of LT. To just project him forward without him having the same advantages isn't a serious comparison.

And why couldn't Jimmy G and Purdy do the same? They both had 10pt leads I believe... or at least were leading in the 4th QTR. Couldn't make some passes to extend drives a few times to put the game away?

MLB is in for a rude awakening next year. They've been changing everything about the game for 8 years now and pissing off the real fans. When the season doesn't start on time they're going to lose a lot of people.

Yea both Joe Staley and Trent Williams have agreed that the hardest guy to block they've every blocked was one Aldon Smith

Agreed, I love Cowboy but Aldon was a generational talent. He would have been great either way. I really never understood the "Aldon is a Justin Smith merchant" takes.

To put him in this era he would have all the advantages of today also.. with that.. he may be even better

You mean suspended cause of drug tests?
He probably won't be into heavy drugs… but all players right now are all still passing tests anyways

So f**king true. I won't even say his name in a thread that is comparing good qbs to elite qbs. He is neither. The dude is and always was a back up. So glad we have purdy and he is back where he belongs. On the bench or holding a clipboard
