SOBER - We made some off season moves to be able to compete with the Seahawks.
Offense - Their smother zone defense makes an offense work for every yard, but can be vulnerable to the outside. We got Evens to win on the outside, and then Stribling to be another contested catch guy that can work tough in the zones, and threaten the outside with speed. Kirk to back-up Pearsal with speed. Now we are down to a wounded Evans. Kirk won't be off IR yet. Hoping improved TE room can play 1-3 personnel to attack the underneath openings. Tonges hurt :(
Defense - Got Osa to add disruptive pressure up the middle, Halton was developmental but also now a disruptor. This was supposed to pair with Bosa, Height speed, and Mykel. Bosa out, Height raw and playing with a club hand, Mykel may be 1st game back. Hobbs was to be slot insurance -- now Stout looks like he's out for at least this game - pray Hobbs can replace. But he has minimal experience in the scheme and likely a lot of rust.
Given that the SEA counters are essentially not available, I am a bit pessimistic this game goes well. I suspect the game plan will look like the Rams gameplan - quick throws to keep their DL pressure from ruining the game. But without deeper contested ball receivers, and SEA swarm defense, the underneath fast pass game will be tough to win with.
HOPE - that 9ers can at least be competitive without their full roster available and that gives hope for the game later in the year.
DREAM - we pull a Rams game upset somehow. Get in SEA's head they aren't invincible
