For some reason Webb often has rough time specifically against the Dodgers. With the state of the Giants pitching, he, Ray and Verlander are the only hopes to hold off the teams, especially offensive potent teams and score enough runs to win. Once any of the three is roughed up, there is absolutely nothing to even slow down the bleeding, let alone stopping it altogether. My hope is Mets and the teams behind the Giants also continue to lose more often than win, for the Giants to hold off falling further back in the next 8 games from where they are right now, until they get home for the final 6 games.

Well at least Webb owned up to his flop last night. But I also blame Butto and Gage for their performances as well.

It was the Dodgers. They've been leading the division and have one of the best hitting lineups in the league. You can't expect the Giants to hold them down every game.

This was the turning point in the game IMO. I'm not saying that we for sure win the game if this ball is caught, but man. I am tired of forcing lefty-righty matchups. JHL catches this ball easily, probably standing up.

But of course Melvin doesnt have him starting, because Matos is right handed and Kershaw started. Its not like Lee is hitting .246 and Matos is hitting .180 on the season against lefties or anything. But get that lefty righty matchup at all costs right?!
Hate giving the Dodgers an emotional positive.
Dodgers still own the giants

No pressure Bryce, the team is just chasing a wild card spot.

With Smith's injury they have an opening on the roster. I hope they play him at 1st base instead of DH. Maybe they'll do the lefty-righty thing. I don't know how he hits against LH pitching but since it's all new and he only has a couple weeks it probably doesn't make much difference.

They should tell him there is absolutely no pressure on him and his call up is to get him acclimated and his feet a bit wet in the big league. That is in reality what should be. The pressure should be on the existing everyday lineup to somehow outscore the other team game after game due to the state of the current Giants pitching. Unless Eldridge goes absolute bonkers and the Giants are winning every game 10-9.

The Giants offense made nice turnaround, unfortunately a bit too late. The only reason they are in contention is because of the other teams' collapse. If they somehow sneak into the WC, fine. But more importantly, it is mostly about next year. The current lineup, with Eldridge at first being able to handle the major league pitching, with some tweaks (otherwise the lineup is mostly set) sustaining the recent turnaround for the majority of the season, plus significantly beefed-up pitching
