man sometimes I get bummed seeing other teams big prospects, it just never seems like we have a stud coming up. I was excited about Tibbs but I'm more excited about the player we got so that's ok. We all are waiting for Eldridge and god I hope he's the one.

Eldridge is the best prospect we've had since Posey - most teams don't get generational prospects (that actually hit) often. Once every 5 years if they are lucky.
The Giants got Posey, Mad Bum, Lincecum, Cain... in a relatively short span and that was the core of 3 championships. It takes things like that to occur in order to happen.

Great throw Ramos, gets a ball off the left field wall and spikes it into the ground for 30 yards some how... perfectly encapsulates the Giants right now.

Yup and the only one who has gotten close to the caliber of those players has been Webb. Hoping for some young studs in our future

I hear what you are saying, but at this point we need to be honest about something.
Those four guys made their Major League debuts in 2009, 2009, 2007 and 2005 respectively. Its 2025 now. You are talking about prospects that came up to the big club 16-20 years ago.
While I agree with you that teams dont get "generational prospect" often, the fact that we have had so few players from the Minor Leagues come up and help the big club in the better part of the last TWO DECADES, shows there is a problem. Yes, we hit on 4 excellent players prior to that. And I will be forever grateful. But that fact doesnt excuse the ineptitude of our scouting department for almost 20 years.

For those that aren't watching, Ramos fielded a ball in left and threw it into the dirt 5 feet in front of himself and it skipped slowly back to the infield. And it allowed a runner to score.
Also, the giants suck
Also, the giants suck

Yes, but really it just all evens out over time. It's predominantly luck. Drafting in baseball is probably the biggest crapshoot in all of sports.
Giants got their championship core in a short span, that spearheaded the dynasty... the pendulum has swung back the opposite way for the last 12 years... Giants have had Webb and thats about it... maybe Ramos. But Ramos is no super star. Webb almost is. But thats about it as far as home grown talent.
If Eldridge is who I think he is, a MVP caliber player, now we got 3 home grown dudes we can build around, paired with a solid veteran core, just have to continue to add some ancillary pieces to complete the turnaround. We haven't turned the corner but maybe Eldridge can be the start of that.

I am not sure why you are saying 12 years. Its been 16 years since the last stud made his debut for us. And if you want to push it further and get technical, the last of the four was drafted EIGHTEEN years ago.
In theory, things should even out over time. But think about the time periods prior to those big 4 being drafted, developed and succeeding. There was a huge chunk of time prior to that where we werent getting much from our farm system either. I mean seriously think about it. What good/great players did we have that we drafted and developed prior to that 2005-2009 period where we got those big 4 players? Rich Aurilia in 1992? Russ Ortiz in 1995?
