Quick minors update from San Jose...20 year-old outfielder Carlos Gutierrez is quietly tearing up A ball, currently hitting .343 with an OBP of about .440, a true leadoff man with 31 steals over 259 ABs in the minors (caught 4 times) and less strikeouts than walks! No power yet.
He's kind of small at 5'10" and 175 lbs so he might never be a power hitter. Dakota Jordan is also doing quite well and he's a lot bigger so he may become a power hitter. Both are at the lowest level in the minors so they're probably a few years away if they ever make it at all. A lot can happen as you rise through the levels.

Ray pitching well yet again. Need this offense to wake up against Cabrera and his 4.73 ERA.

Damn, Ray with another excellent outing! 7 complete (so far), 2 hits, 9 Ks…but trailing 1-0. He's been so good this year.
C'mon, hitters!

Watching the Giants try to score a run is like being constipated. You keep hoping for results. Maybe they need more ruff*ge in their bats. They could start every inning with a ghost runner and they still wouldn't score more than 2 runs a game. 11 hits and 2 runs yesterday. 8 hits and no runs today. That's 2 runs on 19 hits. That's really hard to do when you mix in some walks and hit batters. Tomorrow is June 1 so maybe their luck will change.

The offense is atrocious on this team, especially huff and lamonte are automatic outs as they trot out to the plate, they need to trade for a bat or two, this team is starving for a superstar bat
