saw a stat online yesterday

Most homers at Oracle this year

Judge 3 in 8 plate appearances
Estrada 3 in 109 PAs
Yaz 3 in 90 PAs

Go team!

Snell has been a total disaster. Waiting so long to sign was such a bad move.

I know but each start he's looking better and better. Too early to say that. Give it 3-4 more outings 1st.

Were better off letting him work this out on an extended "rehab" stint at AAA.

I heard that too. The Giants have more HRs on the road 33 vs 21 at home. They're tied for last in HRs at home with the Nationals. There have been 50 HRs hit at Oracle so visiting teams are hitting more than the Giants. I remember when Petco and Dodger Stadium were considered tough HR parks. They changed the dimensions a little just like the Giants but the big difference is they got power hitters. Ohtani, Betts, Turner, Freeman and Teoscar Hernandez all have legit power. Big surprise. Dodger Stadium now is tied for 3rd most hrs in the league just one behind Camden Yards. Petco is now 5th.

Bottom line is Oracle may not be a cracker box but HR hitters can still hit them out. The Giants just need to get the right guys whether it through free agency or the minor leagues.
Saw this on the team's reddit page and it sums up Snell's current outing:

skips spring training

signs a $30m deal

misses first two weeks of the season

posts a 12 ERA

hurts himself

comes back, walks the bases loaded

leaves to have a baby

doesn't have a baby

comes back, doesn't make it through the third inning

says he should've signed before spring training so he could face major leaguers. bigbrain.jpeg

has a baby, has no paternity leave remaining

gives up first inning homer, loads bases

pulls groin, leaves game in the middle of an at bat

goes back on IL

refuses to elaborate

(also argues with a fan on Instagram and looks stupid)

This is just...wow.

You would think if a team doesn't have a ton of power in general, especially at its home park, they'd at least be built for speed and maybe try to do what they can to generate offense & manufacture runs. Small ball has long since died out but speed will always give a team an advantage.

Who remembers those Cardinals teams back in the '80s with all that speed? Vince Coleman, Willie McGee, Lonnie Smith, Ozzie Smith, David Green...those guys would intentionally hit grounders on that St. Louis carpet to try and beat it out to start or add to rallies. Anything on the ground to the left side seemed to always give them a chance to reach safely. I couldn't stand them, and was really pissed when the Giants lost to them in the '87 playoffs.

But I digress... Trying to take my mind off that crappy loss in the 9th yesterday.

Another .

C'mon Snell, this team needs you. Get & stay healthy, pitch like a #1 or #2 at least.

Doesn't he also prefer to call his own pitches? What's up w/ that? Maybe it's more common than I think and maybe he's just always done that.
On the bright side...Conforto is back and in the starting lineup tonight.
How about a baserunner this inning FFS?
A hit!!!

How about a run this inning FFS?
A run!!!!

How about a crooked number FFS?
Oh well. I'll take the one run for now haha.
Giants brass: Matos is struggling we gotta bench him or send him down

Us: Matos is hitting better than Yaz or Slater...why are you replacing him

Thanks for the double play Yaz
