Looks like a good deal to me for the Knicks.

While I am not sure about this, I can't believe that folks are not more worried about the center piece of the trade being a guy with 4' legs that is coming off an ACL. Every time he drove the lane it seemed like his legs might snap.

And he has said he wants a max deal. That's exactly why trading him now and getting rid of all the horrendous contracts + getting DSJ and 2 first picks is win for Knicks is the right thing to do. Now, if they fail to land FAs - it'll be a failure but you've to first put your in that position.

Knicks have done that. Now, Fizdale needs to deliver on FAs.

So you are betting on KD and Kyrie leaving Steve Kerr and Brad Stevens for Fizdale who hasn't won anything possibly will not even win 20 games this season over a 3 time championship coach and over one of the best young coach in the League for Fizdale. Even if Fizdale is likable his credentials doesn't warrant enough respect especially on championship player like KD and Kyrie.
In addition KD and Kyrie leaving a championship contender roster with one of the best GM's in the league over Knicks pathetic management. Kyrie is already impatient with the young core of the Celtics imagine him playing with a much younger and unproven roster.

KD would be out of his mind to even consider signing with the Knicks. That franchise is a complete trainwreck.

Lol he wouldn't be. He'd be crazy to continue playing with Draymond.

With 3 chips in hand - he can go play in MSG in the largest market in the World.

Carmelo got standing O at MSG this past week. That's how desperate Knicks fans are. He'd be respected and absolutely loved by his teammates and fans.

None of this means jack if he's wasting away the rest of his prime on a rebuild and the Knicks are certainly a rebuild.

Fizdale won 2 rings with Miami Heat. He was not some end of the bench coach - he was as influential as Spols.

Kyrie and KD will have each other - and they could easily land another star by trading DSJ, Frank Nilitini and very high pick in top heavy 2019 draft.

I'm not saying it's a done deal but I think Knicks have put themselves in a great position to land them.

Trading a franchise caliber player on his rookie deal is never a good idea.

If the Knicks dont land a max free agent in the Summer this is a terrible trade

He's on a rookie deal for another 5 months

I understand that but how many franchise caliber players do you see leave after their rookie deal?

The only way this deal makes any sense is if KP told them he's 100% not resigning
Ben Simmons is an All-Star!

You're right - rookies always sign that extension if offered. But, Knicks didn't want to pay him max or anything close to it coming off that injury.

Adrian Wojnarowski: ESPN Sources with @Ian Begley: Dallas is sending New York a 2021 unprotected first-round pick and a 2023 protected first-round pick (1-10) in the deal.

This deal keeps getting better and better for Knicks. These picks now do put them in AD sweepstakes. And then they can still land Kyrie and KD.

I am much more interested in Cousins vs Embiid and 2 real contenders playing tonight.

Embiid is a lot of fun to watch. Warriors need another all star imho.
