I guess this puts Knicks out of AD sweepstakes.

Once Kyrie leaves Boston - they'll be out too.

Trading a franchise caliber player on his rookie deal is never a good idea.

If the Knicks dont land a max free agent in the Summer this is a terrible trade

I agree. Porzingis isn't anywhere near his full potential either. This has disaster written all over it.

If Dallas can sign like a Jimmy Butler or similar type player, they would be legit.
I could see this deal blowing up in both teams faces.

I think it was a great move for Dallas. The only way it blows up in their face is if KP doesnt extend there. But I dont see why he wouldnt.

While I am not sure about this, I can't believe that folks are not more worried about the center piece of the trade being a guy with 4' legs that is coming off an ACL. Every time he drove the lane it seemed like his legs might snap.

And he has said he wants a max deal. That's exactly why trading him now and getting rid of all the horrendous contracts + getting DSJ and 2 first picks is win for Knicks is the right thing to do. Now, if they fail to land FAs - it'll be a failure but you've to first put your in that position.

Knicks have done that. Now, Fizdale needs to deliver on FAs.

Well yes, that's why it could blow up in their face lol. That or if he never regains his form. Then it's Luka, some bad contracts (although they do have good cap space) and they are out 2 1st. I think it's a good gamble though .

Btw...Knicks have not just opened 2 max slots - they'll potentially have 80m in cap space. They could have 12-15m left over after signing two max deals.

KD would be out of his mind to even consider signing with the Knicks. That franchise is a complete trainwreck.

Lol he wouldn't be. He'd be crazy to continue playing with Draymond.

With 3 chips in hand - he can go play in MSG in the largest market in the World.

Carmelo got standing O at MSG this past week. That's how desperate Knicks fans are. He'd be respected and absolutely loved by his teammates and fans.

I don't see it that way. DSJ and a First round pick is a really average return at best.
