2018-19 Los Angeles Lakers Thread

I was more stoked to see all the youngins in a luxury suite together at the concert. Not sure if the whole team was there. All I saw was kuz's instagram showing him and Zo and Hart together. Good camaraderie will do wonders for the young guys.

Here's a great video from last year of Lonzo on D

I remember him saying that he doesn't do s**t. Doesn't have any hobbies. It's just basketball.

Yup...that's why he's about to take that jump this season. I really like BI and Ball and both have looked really good in the preseason. Even Kuzma played well in the last two games.

Kuzma was playing better because they backed off him at Center. I feel like if Luke sticks with that it's gonna ruin him. He's not built to bang down low. They gotta figure something better out than him at the 5.

Would like to see lineup of:

Ball
BI
Lebron
Kuz
McGee

I think this lineup puts everyone where they belong and you can still pretty much switch everything. This lineup should be great on the boards. It will also create lot of mismatches when in half court offense. It gives the Lakers a big lineup while still having the ability to play at warp speed on offense.

Rondo, Hart and KCP miss out but can be inserted in place of McGee if the other team goes small.

Definitely agree. I also think with Cousins out - Warriors don't have a Center who can physically dominate other players.

There are certain teams Lakers can sort of get away with Kuzma at Center but against most teams - he'll just get beat up. There is no point in doing that.

Gotta give Zubac more run. He's capable enough. Between McGee and him they can get enough minutes out of them to not force Kuz in there. I know at some point they have to go small, but too much is not good for the long haul.

We need Wagner to get his ass on the court.

Yeup. Have to play Zubac in my opinion too. They got no choice. Kuzma has to use speed rather than strength when he's playing at center. That comes with experience

I was looking forward to seeing Wagner in preseason but f**king injuries. Not sure when he will be fully cleared. I'm not expecting anything from him before Jan 2019.

One of the players I'd love Lakers to get in a trade that doesn't cost them an arm and a leg is Kosta Koufus. In last year of his deal at 8m and Kings need to give more playing time to their young centers.

January? They're evaluating if he could be available for the opener. I'm not saying he'll be out there for sure on Thursday, but I think he's a lock for the start of November.

I read he's not cleared for 5 on 5 drills. Plus he missed the entire preseason. So, he's probably quite behind.

Anyway, what I meant was - I don't see him making any significant impact for a while. Hope I'm wrong - because this team will need him. Hope he is back in November and up to speed.

I don't think it's good idea to have Lebron play center during regular season either. You can play him center if you're going against Draymond or Capella but not against traditional centers.
