Yeah we really will never know since he quit and no one who knows is telling us the full story.

He should have kept going until he was sacked or selected.

The way this has happened stinks of poor form and has opened him up to ridicule, particularly if he tried to come back to NFL.

As Nike said, some poor decision making has been going on.

who gives a flying F about rugby 7's and rugby 7's in the 2 week olympics, it will be forgotten about 3 days later, what a crock!

I am s**tty cause I bought into the story and honestly believed he had the talent to contribute.

politis will be rubbing his hands together

I'm another one who thought he had something to add to the NFL (and the 49ers in particular). But, whilst I am disappointed, I think this was a case of jumping because he had been told he was going to be pushed. I don't believe 7s was his goal nor the Olympics, rather this way he looks like he has left on his own terms. I'd suggest his management had been looking at other NFL options and come up empty. Which is a sad end to his story because I really thought he was going to make a mark.

Oh well...
It isn't like football (whatever the type) is important in the scheme of things. Hayne wasn't the guy who could end the Trump campaign or solve global warming, no matter where he ends up next, football, netball, moto GP, my life will carry on pretty much as it always has.

Is it possible he can play for Fiji 7's in the Olympic's, whilst juggling the 3 State of Origin's before returning to the 49ers from their reserve list ?
What a weird scenario
Any thoughts?

First origin will be out after that who knows, at this stage we don't know for certain if he jumped, was pushed or what happened between him and the 49ers.
On the surface it seems amicable enough and we are talking about Hayne so anything is possible.

I haven't completely ruled out his return to the 49ers, he is now just a scrub on the street and 49ers do have a recent record of signing under performing scrubs as they need them.

Rugby 7's is a shorter version of Rugby with only 7 players aside and played for two halves of 7 mins each as opposed to normal Rugby which is 15 players aside and played for 80 mins.

its basically for speedsters, Carlin Isles ex- arena football fastest man in rugby but needs awhole lotta improvement, Perry Baker next fastest coming on nicely both from the USA.
Jerry Haynes after finding out how easy it was to make an NFL roster whilst being out of shape and with zero knowledge/experience of the sport

Jerry Haynes goes off, plays the Rugby 7's, gets his Olympic gold, gets back in time to slot in at RB for the NFL season.

Based on how soft all their RB's were and still may be, he'll be needed after around 3 games. Lol lol lol.
