For all of you 49ers fans, I hope you are in for a lifetime of disappointment watching a substandard pile of s**t for a football team, wasting thousands of dollars following your crap team. I hope the Yorks continue to drain your bank accounts and get even richer.

Nice outro

Still the b***hiness continues, he gave it a shot and despite everything succeeded, sure he wasn't a superstar but he played NFL at the highest level. Given the thousands that dedicate their whole lives to trying to make it as far as Hayne did without success every year, for him to achieve what he did in 12months is truly remarkable.
Don't know if he was pushed out the door or walked but either way to have a chance at making the Olympics in 2 months shows how highly people think of him as an athlete. If he succeeds I think will be an even bigger achievement than making a NFL roster.

I truly don't think most North Americans realise what a massive task he has ahead of him just to make the team. With their lack of knowledge on rugby league, rugby union and 7's they would be assuming he is a walk up start when in honesty the learning curve will be just as steep as his transition to NFL and has to be achieved in weeks not months. If he is successful it will be down to pure athletic ability not actually having learnt the game just like his making the 49ers roster was last year. Another thing to keep in mind is Fiji aren't some second string team, a few months out from the Olympics they are leading the world standings, he has to force his way into the best playing roster in the world.

I hope 49ers fans continue to follow his story as it is one hell of a ride.
In 2 years Hayne may well have walked away from a sport as the best player in the world, forced his way onto the playing roster in a sport that takes decade to learn and then have a Olympic gold medal around his neck from a 3rd sport after having played it for only weeks.

What if he doesn't make the Fijian team though? Make this decision seem pretty stupid.
The wheelabarrowback medicine ball team will have a spot.

Well what's he going to do after mid August when the Olympics are over? (Or before that if he doesn't make the team?)

It does seem like a short sighted decision.

Maybe he has enough money to not have to work.

He canT play in Olympics in the 7rugby anyway.

He has now been playing in the NFL sport that is NOT WADA accredited and so he Needs to wait 6 months for drug testing to give him the all clear on performance enhancing drugs.

Great pickup for Rugby
Yep, but now it says on the news he was worried about the fumbling issues in NFL, no room for mistakes in this game got to him, and I think I know why. In Rugby both codes there are allowable errors and can be easily fixed up, in Rugby union there is the advantage rule where the team is given advantage by the Ref because the opposition infringed, the advantaged team plays the ball but a player fumbles this is where the advantage rule is utilised, the ref blows his whistle and resets the play and the team gets to play the ball all over again.
Now NFL, Its a huge vast business structure unforgiving with over 2•5 million wannabe's vying for position every year, that in itself shows why there are no room for errors. Hayne saw that, knew that, but s**t Fiji offering him a chance to play 7's in Rio? My god Hayne, if ya really jumped ship then poo on you ya let every hardcore
Fan down! Dam you! GO THE NINERS!!! f**k HAYNE!!! TRAITOR!!! I LOVED YOU MAN!!?! I.........f**kING HATE YOU NOW YOU MUTHAf**kING f**k f**k!!!!!
Smells like he quit.
I wonder who has been advising this guy.

Yeah i dont get it...but i dont care i dont follow rugby and i wont start now, always been interesting in nfl but watching it here in oz is an issue if you dont have foxtel, and as a parramatta supporter i was curious to see how hayne would go in the nfl, but think he made a mistake should of stayed but then again if he really wants to go to the olympics he will have to do it now cause he wont be going in another 4 years.

Depend if he was pushed out the door or left to chase another dream.
Leaving to chase the opportunity of a Olympic gold medal is believable, after all the Olympics only come around ever 4 years and Hayne would be 32/33 the next games so realistically this is his only chance at Olympic glory.
His move from NRL to NFL did show he wasn't in it for the money and leaving to chase Olympic glory reads a lot better than cut from roster after one season.

Toronto Wolfpack are yet to announce any signings ahead of their first season in the English comp, if they are chasing a high profile signing to try and make a push to establish RL in North America they could do a lot worse than Hayne.
