Louisville until they recently joined the ACC from the Big East were another big-time contender from outside the P5... The landscape of CFB is constantly in flux so I wouldn't be surprised if some of those teams ended up in the P5.

Independent in Football, ACC every other sport I believe.

But with an ACC scheduling alliance and access to ACC Bowls (I believe).

Notre Dame is de facto ACC.

I thought it was something weird like that... Kind of like some sort of open relationship We're are ACC, but we're Independent!

I suppose they're a huge name in College Football so it is possible for them to stand alone, it's just weird that they're officially ACC in all other sports, except Football.

Good day of CFB today, yesterday's games were pretty sloppy affairs... Underdog SMU stuck with Baylor for 2 & a half quarters in an entertaining high scoring encounter & Boise St escaped with a narrow victory over the Huskies. (Tense stuff.)

I missed the Michigan St v Western Michigan game, but the highlights showed a close encounter.

Looking forward to tomorrow's games & hopefully a week one upset.

I still can't believe how many talk about him as if he's some kind of genius. Towards end of 1st half, Stanford has all 3 TOs and they're on D and stopping NU, but does ConservaShaw stop the clock to try and get something going before half? H**l no, of course not.

It's an overly cautious coach with an inept offense which of course not helped by the fact the QB pretty much sucks.
