Ronda Rousey vs Floyd Mayweather in an MMA fight

floyd will take the fight for $250 million
So Rhonda can throw this dude that outweighs her by maybe 100 lbs, but she can't throw floyd that outweighs her by maybe 10-15 lbs?

No way a person can lose 17 pounds in one day

Its mostly water weight. When you rehydrate and start eating you are heavier. So a fighter who fights at 205 might step in the ring at 215 or more. Allows you to hold more actual mass during the fight.

Not a Nascar fan but I've heard Nascar drivers can lose upto 10 lbs during a race and that's when they hydrate themselves for hours before the race.

No idea. I think that's her trainer. He allowed her to do that I believe for the crowd, but it's not like somebody not trained to stop it could. Especially somebody relatively the same size as her. lol

Definitely possible. Some fighters wait until the day before the weigh in to cut 20lbs. Texiera just did this for his fight last week

If she needs tackling dummies for training, I am willing to volunteer.

I highly doubt that guy is 240/250 lbs. Plus he is offering no resistance and is probably rolling with the throw to avoid damage so in essence he's making it look easier than it really is.

Again -- props to the bronze medalist in women's judo (lolz) but if Judo is so dominant where are all the champion Judoka in men's mma?

And here's an OLYMPIC GOLD MEDAL CHAMP in action:

A lot of fighters take bits from Judo, but no one really uses it as a base. Shoot, nobody really uses Jiu-Jitsu as a base either. Karo Parisian was a decent UFC fighter who has a strong Judo background.

The guy featured in the video that is being thrown I believe is Justin Flores, he is an american Judoka and is one of her training partners. He competed in Judo at 66kg (145 lbs) but probably walks around a little heavier than that (at least 15-20 pounds). He is offering no resistance in being thrown, whereas in a fight a fighter obviously is going to try and resist the throw however Floyd would struggle in resisting, as it would take a lot of time to learn and understand the techniques needed to defend against the throws of a high level Judoka.

The best mens Judoka in MMA is probably Hector Lombard. It is not that judo is so dominant, it is in part how Ronda has transitioned her judo game to work for her in MMA. She also has an incredibly high fight IQ, she processes information very quickly inside the cage which is a big part of the reason why she is so dominant.

After I did more reading, shredding weight is easier than I thought. However, Texiera is 205lbs and lost 20 lbs based on a plan, not at whim in 5 hours.

From what I've read, losing 17lbs in 5 hours for a 150lber is pretty f'ing crazy. After doing some googling (yeah I know its not perfect), I don't see a single comparison of a 150lber losing over 10% of their body weight in 5 hours. If Rousey did it over several days, I would believe it.
