The Cavaliers and their fans deserve NOTHING. They got lebron with the first pick, he didn't pick them. There was no personal choice there. He's been with the f**king team for 7 years and the best they could do is Mo Williams and Antawn Jamison? I'm sorry, but you guys f**ked up. If the Warriors lucked into Lebron James, I wouldn't be depressed at all if he left us after 7 years of terrible teammates
This is pretty much how i feel about it.
Agreed. Can you really hate the guy for going to the team where he thinks he can win best? Gimme a break. You're telling me you guys wouldn't go to a team most stacked to win a ring?!?!
Not when Im at talented as LeBron and have the opportunity to call myself the GOAT when my career is all said and done assuming I play it all right...he HAD a lot to win and a lot to lose pending how he played his future...I dont even think leaving Cleveland would have obliterated his legacy the way going to Miami has, it obviously would have been GREAT for his legacy to stay in Cleveland, but even a move to the Nets, Bulls, or Knicks would have been okh for his legacy...
But nope...now his legacy is beyond tarnished...its simply dead...
For the sake of argument, if he wins 7 championships... His legacy is still dead? I just don't see how it dies when he goes to a team and has the potential to win a bunch of championships. Jordan had good players with him, too. Pippen and Rodman? And now LBJ has Wade and Bosh? I dunno. I understand your assessment but at the same time agree with LBJ's move. He wants to win, period.
but Jordan didn't ditch the Bulls when he failed to win championships his first 6 or so years to team up with superstars in order to relieve the pressure from himself.
^To continue on that, BronBron is 25 & in his last 2 seasons won 60+ games and lost to the eventual Eastern Conference Champs both times, its not like his team isn't good or was very mediocre either
He was there, he was on the cusp, some patience might have helped things move a long way, BronBron WAS going to be mentioned in the same breath as Kobe, MJ, Magic and company, BUT say he does go on to win 7 champs now in Miami (which he wont), its no longer his team, its no longer something he worked AS tremendously hard for from scratch, form the beginning, its not the same as what Jordan fought through to get his rings in Chicago, the s**t he crawled through, the difficulties, etc, hell, even Kobe during his dark years post-Shaq went through some tough times and struggle in LA...it makes the championship taste THAT much better when you do finally get to it...its not like Cleveland wasnt in the right direction, the team wasnt terrible and it had some promise, now fiscally speaking with the contracts they had, the immediate future wasnt the brightest in regards to change, but whose to say a full season with Jamison and company wouldnt have drawn better results?
I feel like he (and others in the NBA like KG) scared him into thinking that his next 6 years in Cleveland could be like his last and as a result, he freaked out and didnt want that, he didnt want to be on a team that he thought had no young superstar potential like himself, had a guy who was smashing his mom during halftime, and obviously in his eyes, didnt have a bright enough future as he (as an individual) did...
It also doesnt help how he went about this entire Free Agency...everything from the beginning of it to this "The Decision" s**t...especially since at the end he knew he was leaving Cleveland, he shouldnt have gone about it in the manner that he did...dont get me wrong, I understand why he chose Miami now, honestly, I dont even think its so much about the rings as it is playing with your best friends in a friendly environment...all this guys basketball life he was playing alongside his best friends and Im sure the Delonte-Gloria Smashin kinda got him thinkin twice about who his teammates were and s**t and really got him into an anti-Cavs mood, maybe Im overplaying the smashing but I feel like that may be just one example that was made public that we know about, one of MANY that all added up in Bron's head to lead him to believe that he cant win rings with guys like that, but most importantly, he cant
enjoy the game and have fun playing with guys like that...
He loves Bosh & Wade and they basically are his best friends in the NBA, so he just wants to continue what only seems right to him which is to play the game he loves with the people he loves the most...
