so hes pretty much maxed out at 240 pounds?

When all his draft notes say he needs to bulk up. They talk as if hes a 22 year old. He's a grown man already.
25 and needs to put on a ton of muscle/weight if we plan on lining him anywhere but wide 9. Great get-off and twitch though. Definitely fine with the pick.

like you should be dominating when you have 4+ years of grown man training on these guys. I hope he's a stud for us but it's just like Pearsall - we going to give these guys second contracts (big money) when they're 30? Lol it'll be interesting

They probably have no plans of giving these older guys second contracts.

Is he any good at setting edges or is he a one trick pony? We just need him to be a good pass rusher but he isn't going to be able to blow by NFL OTs every game. I hope he balls

he is never setting an edge...he is a pure speed pass rusher

We already have run stuffing DEs
Williams
White
etc.

He is a situational weapon...get to the QB ASAP and thats it

I don't see him as a massive liability against the run or anything but its not his strength. He's a replacement for Huff. As a rookie you have him come in on passing downs and do what he does best which is explode into the backfield and chase the QB.

Dont worry about his size or his 40 time

He has an electric first step...greased lightning coming off the edge on obvious passing downs

If the opposing OT cant handle speed he will be absolutely abused

That's what we need opposite of Bosa.

That or after the 3rd year of the rookie contract.. we will see more 2-3 year extensions.

when he's 28, we sign him to a 2 year extension that pays well and keeps him through 31. Assuming he's good.

I think we are going to see more contracts that are 2 year extensions with these older guys. But maybe them coming into the league older and more mature will help them excel in the league. Being 20/21 or 24/25 is a big deal at that age, maturity wise.
Trade down a bunch of times. Get a 25 year old 239 pass rusher for the NFL. Ok Lynch. Sure.

He's a designated pass rusher. Unless the 49ers transition to a 5-man surface and find a way to put him on the field at SAM or something, which is possible--he's only going to be on the field when it's time to get the QB. Think the Dee Ford role.
This is what we needed a DPR, he can drop into coverage as well.

Morris drafted a guy very similar of him in Bryon Young when in LA.

height is probably around 245lbs after the combine.
Hmm...maybe we see that 3-4 stuff more this year...this guy gives those kinds of vibes...
