You do know a lot of the guys are 5 or 6 year seniors right? This is going to be the norm now that players are getting paid to stay in college and transfer every year.

Drafting older players is a really good move over developmental players. Stribling, Height, and Black all have a chance to contribute right away. This saves the time required to develop them. Immediate contribution is usually reserved for first round draftees.

As the pros have said, the draft is a crapshoot. I'm in wait and see mode also. Let them develop these players and see what happens. Personally I think we're a year ahead in the rebuild phase with the 2025 draft class helping us get to the playoffs a year early. yeah this draft doesnt look like the greatest but I'm hoping this draft puts us over the top somehow.

True, but the 3 players drafted are all highly productive in college. They seem to be applying the traits of the Brock Purdy pick to other positions. It's a smart move to not follow the conventional draft formula in gaining an edge. Of course this is a gamble - like all picks anyway.

Agree, and I'll add that they seem to be focusing a lot more on the relationship and culture aspect of the players. The Kyle/Aiyuk relationship broke down and they lost valuable draft capital due to that. Another example: Bill Walsh had a good relationship with Charles Haley, but in comes George Seifert and suddenly the bi-polar issues come up and he's shipped off to Dallas.

I think they are being much more sensitive to a players mental makeup - character, personality, and the ability of the position coaches and HC to get along with the draftees, than before.

It's crazy that pass rushers are smaller now than the linebackers of my hey day. My how the game has changed.

Only positive thing from this pic is that he can come in and play now on pass downs, there is no assignments to learn just get off and get home to the QB, so we will see early if he can finish and get sacks.

Absolutely. Opposing O lines will have too much to handle (upgraded D line), this dude could just roam around and choose his victims

Interesting. If you are correct the Aiyuk situation caused a fairly radical rethink.
