Cohn is suuuuuch a douchebag. I'm not sure what posting his meaningless b******t says about you.

Anything to get clicks, that's how he gets paid. Folks need to remember all this when it comes to online crap

No but its a bit fresh, if thats the # he wanted then of course he should have it. I think an 80s number would have look good on him.

87 or 88 would have looked nice. Seems like in recent history, a lot of WRs are opting for 1-19 instead of the 80s.

That started when college QBs began converting to WR. Hines Ward and Gene Washington come to mind.

Also a few years ago, the league expanded the number set they are eligible to use in the NFL.

NFL wide receivers can wear jersey numbers 0–49 and 80–89. Following rule changes in 2021 and 2023, receivers are no longer restricted to the 10–19 or 80–89 ranges, allowing them to wear single digits, 20s, 30s, and 40s

Maybe they had to do that because so many teams retire the numbers of former players.

I prefer a reporter being critical over glazing like Lombardi but Cohen is just such a douche about it. Is there an actual reporter watching camp that gives genuine criticism and insight?

All that Grant Cohn post did was solidify for me that he really is a troll.

Nah not really…he's almost 6-3 210lbs. He looks like Chris Godwin jr imo. He's not a twitched Ricky P like WR (like I've been saying) that's not how he's gonna win (as an uber elite separator).

Agree, and Jauan Jennings wasn't the jitterbug that Pearsall is, and still was a great producer for the 49ers.
Yet another WR. Shany is always just 1 more WR in a high draft pick away. We will pick WR with the 1st pick in 2027 too.

Cohn isn't doing that legitimately either

Grant doesn't have to imagine. He's lived it.

He isn't being impartial or critiquing, he goes out of his way to say over the top negative s**t to get attention. He's not even a real beat writer. He writes for SI which anyone can do these days . Essentially like reading pieces off the front page of the WZ. If you want genuine reporting with honest takes, Barrows would be the guy….and he doesn't write like a 5th grader

he does have some flaws with being to decelerate that Crock pointed out. I'm just in wait and see mode with Stribling. I'm still not sold nor do I hate it. I just hope he balls out.

Rather him get #11 or #19 I have respect for JJ

I agree but I was hoping to see him in the 80's.

Jennings was a nice receiver but he's hardly a 49er icon. Not like he's asking to wear #80. No reason Stribling should wear #15 if he wants to.

Look at the History of this franchise and Jennings in nothing more than a scrub. Give the kid the number

Cohn is smart enough to know that he can't add value as a football content writer because he knows nothing about it, and his personality is not endearing so he is unable to forge media relations with players and coaches to receive "scoops"... so he created a niche for himself in this media space by being the controversial cynical contrary villain, he knows a certain percentage of the population will always read FUD (fear, uncertainty, doubt) and he can always get clicks by generating this type of content... this is his business model and how he has decided to make his living with the job daddy gave him... best thing to do is just don't click on his drivel, I never read his stuff and if I see he is the writer I just scroll past.

This is the best post I've seen in here describing G Cohn. You just nailed it !
For those that listen to him , why ? An honest question. He's not the only content creator to criticize the 49ers. His questions at the pressers are only meant to benefit his content. His questions could be worded better, to where Kyle & John might actually answer them .

The prick was probably picked on a lot as a little s**t. And now he can get away with talking s**t without anyone touching him.
