WR/EDGE
EDGE/WR

If the TE Kenyon Sadiq or S Dillon Thieneman
from Oregon fall to #27 either one could be the 49ers pick.

idc who it is - just be an impact player. Sadiq would be an awesome weapon to have. an awesome S would be beautiful too.

What's hard about predicting system fits for our Defense is we aren't quite sure what type of system we are going to run.

We could def use a stud TE, S, LG, DE - those are our biggest holes in no particular order, IMO.

Yup. Like we all wanted IOL addressed, but, not like this exactly. Although, no one is surprised. We can't, won't, and don't ever spend big money on guards.

i mean banks and puni were both day 2 picks so i wouldnt say that

but i think we jsut see bigger needs elsewhere and based on draft dont want to spend a high pick on iOL. My guess is that because this is a strong S, WR, and EDGE class we will be going there
I think Lynch & Shanny don't believe in paying guards big money. They feel they can get by with average guard play thus I don't think they believe in investing high draft capital in guards as opposed to like tackles. I just don't foresee them extending any guards long term. 2 to 3 year deals max. Or day 2/day 3 picks at guard so they have them under team control for 4 years & then year 5, let them walk in free agency & get some comp picks in return.

i think its more of a question is if they are worth it. I mean Banks was a solid starter but not worth the contract he got. I think if Ioane fell for example to 27 they would take him in a heart beat
People wanted them to add some beef to the G position

I think it would require a Bitonio or Quentin Nelson type talent at G for the Niners to extend them. Otherwise I think they will let talent like Banks or I'm anticipating Puni being allowed to walk in free agency. Their value in free agency just explodes as Banks showed.

This offseason's OL situation isn't helping my trauma from those Seattle ass whoopings.

Tighten your chin straps for 2026 because as things stand now it's going to be a bloodbath in those Seattle games.I guess the draft will tell us how serious this team is about dethroning the Superbowl champs.

Maybe you missed the memo half our starters were out. Good ones too. The first game of the year basically no Kittle AND Aiyuk and we still whipped them. Our line isn't that good in pass protection but we can still beat them without 2 all pros like Kittle and BA…..soooo.

I wish we got a guard in the first round or a T than can play guard but these coaches are in denial

I'm hoping that Puni will return to form this season without a melting knee. That knee was an issue all year in 2025. Some stability at LG will also help, last year was just a revolving door of Bartch/Colby/Burford.
I expect improvement in 2026.
I look forward to the day we have a dominant O-line again, but at least we shored up the depth with the signings of Lowe/Toth/Jones.

I agree. I think he will return to form. Puni was a top 10 Guard his rookie year and now McKivitz is playing better that will help his play. The problem is the C. I wish we would draft high OL bc our playmakers and Brock do enough to mask the deficiencies of the pass pro.
For Brock Purdy's sake, we better hope Puni's play last year was due to that knee...

because he was straight up trash all season.

I think you are right, but because of the state and current window of this team. In a vacuum, they dont want a young all pro guard because then they have to pay a young all pro guard. And thats just not where they want to burn cap.

Where have the 49ers given you the idea that they would draft a 'guard' in the 1st round ?
We are screwed from an SB for a while..sns just reality

In looking at various mocks, there are only two IOLs that appear consistently in the first round and both (Ioane and Bisontis) are gone before we pick. I don't see guard as a first round need, or even a second round the way we view guards.

Yea, that was thought of my post. When do the 49ers ever draft a guard in the 1st round. Before this FO, J Garnett, 2016.

I believe he started the year with a PCL injury and powered through it. he wasn't himself, and that was clear. hopefully he's healed up this time and can get back to building upon his foundation.
I think Eric Branch invented the term Debbie downer. He feels the need to point out some injury this guy had and every injury that every single player who joins the Niners has ever had. Hey moron the NFL has 100% injury rate how you haven't figured that out by now I don't really know, but whatever. Dude is more annoying than Grant Cohn on some fronts.
