I've been down on the future but I will say that 2025 established a winning culture for the team in a highly challenging season.

You just can't deny the magnitude of a team winning 13 games against those odds. It reflects the mindset these players have about playing for the 49ers and guys talked about that standard throughout the season. And that was without Aiyuk, Deebo, Greenlaw, Hufanga, Ward, Hargrove, Armstead, Banks, etc.

Culture is intangible, but it matters. It directly contributes to winning. If they're going to coach and play this hard when they're completely gutted I'd like to think they can shine when reloaded.

EVERYONE said they would be one and done if they made the playoffs and they went there and said "f**k that". Have we ever seen something like that before?

I'm not going to say this team will win a SB. As a fan who has never seen my beloved Niners win one the dream is starting to fade. But it's kind of hard to count this team out. They just need to hit on the offseason. Crucial time in Ninerland.

Look at the two teams that made it to the Super Bowl this year, the Patriots and Seahawks, just think about where they were last season.

Now look at the teams that were supposed to push for a title this year (Eagles, Bills, Ravens, Chiefs, Lions). Hell the Cowboys could win the Super Bowl next year for all we know.

Basically the window no longer closes, every team other than the jets and raiders could potentially win the Super Bowl next year.

Agreed. Plus we have a good coach and a good qb. If you have those, you have a leg up
Bosa, Armstead, Chase Young, Hargraves , Randy Gregory

Niner defensive line in 2023 SB vs KC.

When that team lost in OT to KC the window was shut closed. I've never been more disappointed in a defensive line in my life. If that unit couldn't hold down KC after taking a lead in OT then I don't have anything anything else to say.
I also think McCaffrey's fumble on the opening drive in that Super Bowl was huge. If he does not fumble, I think we go up 7-0, I don't think Greenlaw gets injured and I think we win that game by 2 touchdowns. I think it was Kittle who stated that he thinks the 49ers win that game if McCaffrey does not fumble on the opening drive, and, sadly, I think George was right just as I believe Kittle was right when he said the 49ers beat Seattle at home this year in Week 18 with a healthy Trent and Pearsall.

The Buffalo Bills owner stated when he fired McDermott that the Bills had hit the proverbial wall in the playoffs. And just as you can't necessarily blame McDermott for the Bills' playoff failings, I understand why he made that change. Sometimes you just need to shake things up if things are not working.

And maybe the 49ers soon should also try a new head coach to shake up a system that just seems not to be working. In the NFCCG against the Eagles, on their opening drive around the 50 on 4th down, the Eagles went for it and it was ruled complete to Smith even though replay showed incomplete. Eagles went up 7-0. If Kyle had called timeout as the Eagles hurried to the line of scrimmage and then now had time to challenge the play, now I think the 49ers go up 7-0 and Brock does not get hurt.

So in a way, I do believe Kyle has played a part in the proverbial wall they have hit in being unable to win a Super Bowl.
And I will add this.

I do believe that with a healthy roster next year, if the 49ers add 2 players like Jefferson and Crosby, they go ahead of both Seattle and the Rams and are favorites in the NFC. No matter how old or young our roster is next year. And the Super Bowl is at our second home at Levi's South.

Jed York needs to man up and find a way to get it done. He needs to stop worrying about investing in professional soccer and worry about football and the 49ers. If he can't then maybe it's time we found a new owner.

Oh come on, that's a ridiculous post. You want us to acquire TWO superstars in one off-season? Do you know how rare it is for any superstar to become available? Look at what the Packers had to give up just for Parsons.

When was the last star WR under 30 traded? AJ Brown? Debatable that he was a star and he was threatening to hold out from his rookie contract.

The simple fact is that we nearly got there without Bosa or Warner, with them we clearly still have a shot and that's without any additions.

Crosby and Jefferson won't help our offensive and defensive lines getting manhandled. We aren't going anywhere with the disparity of size and strength in the trenches. It was embarrassing.
We can not possibly add both Crosby and Jefferson to this team lmao. Just one would be a massive bombshell that has a 5% chance of happening maximum.

How would the Niners pay those two? That's all they need. Two more guys making upward of $25 mil per year.
They went 12-5 with a patched together team. A lot of rookies and younger guys were forced to step up and there are some bright spots they may not have even realized they had.
They have a lot of work to do for sure but an infusion of a couple impact rookies and FA's combined with returning players and good role players added and they have as good a chance as anyone.

Any time there is a suggestion to replace the coach that most people with ties to the league think is one of the 5 best, I always wonder who you would suggest to replace him with? Who is possibly better than Shanahan that they could bring in?

I want us to put more resources into the O-Line, I think a slight pass can be given as no one could have forseen Puni's regression. McKivitz actually played well, and is not easily replaced for his cost. Brendel is also giving performance above his cost. LG definitely a problem spot and Brendel should be upgraded.

D-Line it can be argued that with Bosa healthy and the rookies developing we should be good there.

You've always got to be careful in those situations, the grass isn't always greener. Who would we get in that could do as good a job as Kyle? Turn it over to Kubiak? Would be madness. The Bills might find out the hard way, but at least they've got Josh Allen, our roster cannot cope with average coaching.
