If Minnesota trades for Jones why would they trade Jefferson haha.
Trade him we need the pick
Love Mac but it all depends on how Rourke is coming along. Rourke is pretty much an ideal backup/spot starter for this scheme. If they think he's looking good then you move on from Mac and draft another QB late again and hopefully get a pipeline of talent going.

Another vet in free agency is always an option. We have to capitalize on our ability to generate value at the backup QB spot through our system and coaching. It is a unique advantage. Hopefully we get an enticing offer for Mac.
Depends what we're offered for him and who we're getting in as QB2, but I'm leaning towards trading him.

Brock needs to be protected and our DL still isn't there yet so extra picks might help us invest more in the trenches.
Brock missed a lot of games. Still a nay for me unless we get an offer we simply cant refuse. I know it might be fcked up to Mac who wants a chance to be a starter but we gotta think of our team first

Rourke is our hole card. He opens up a lot of options if he is the real deal.

Totally agree. ALL of the QBs have put up numbers, but only three actually won. I say we keep Mac unless he asks for a trade and someone offers better than a 3rd.

If he didn't have the tools he wouldn't have gone #2 overall. It's more that he chooses to try to be Josh Allen/Patrick Mahomes, where he should be trying to be Drew Brees/Brock Purdy. Kyle can fix that, and if he can't who cares? Back Rourke in that situation.

1. That was 5 years ago. Draft status means nothing at this point in his career.

2. If it were about draft status, why not bring in Trey Lance or Justin Fields?

3. When Tua was benched, they didn't go to Wilson.

They guy has has no success in a 5 year NFL career. He does not have the tools.

He deserves a chance to start and they have way too many needs to turn down draft capital. I'm sure there will be be castoff QBs who will want to play with Kyle after Darnold and Mac both came here as backups and got another chance

If there's a truly highly regarded QB, sure. But who fits that profile? Maybe Kirk Cousins if Atlanta releases him lol. As for young guys, Bryce Young turned it around so he is out. No to Tua. Who else is there realistically?

There isn't really anyone that sticks out but nobody really thought Jones or Darnold could do it either. Both were on castaway by 2 teams already. A guy fits that mold is Pickett but I don't see him being successful. Interesting name to me is Sam Howell to compete with Rourke.

Obviously I would rather have Jones over them but there are so many holes are the team and if you can get a good draft pick you have to. Teams could be desperate bc the only good free agent option is Willis and only draft option is Mendoza. Unless someone is talked into overdrafting a QB.

Teams that have question marks at QB
Miami, Jets, Browns, Steelers, Raiders, Colts (Jones injury), Falcons (new coach/GM), Arizona, Vikings

I agree. Id take a 2nd and 4th for him although im not sure the 49ers can get that much. While he was obviously huge for the team its time to reload on picks and he is our best trade chip.

The financials of trading Justin Jefferson do not make sense for Minnesota.

If it's a 2 in 26 and 4 in 27 I think it could.
Makes sense for Minnesota, Miami, Raiders, Texans to name a few
Mac for Stroud and a 2nd. Let Shanny fix Stroud and trade him later for a 2nd or 3rd. . Win win for Houston and the 49ers.

Are you out of your mind? Stroud is utter trash.
