(A primary topic with all the injuries on defense, and fragile receiver group.) The latest article about trading for Max Crosby - projecting two 1st, a 4th, 5th, and Juan. Max is 28, a little banged up now, and signed through 2029 for 91MM guaranteed. So he wouldn't be a 1 year rental. I totally get the draft pick price for this caliber of player. My concern: 1. Next draft a LT has to be a priority (no room to pursue one in free agency) - and foregoing LT and OL help 2 years in a row is a non-starter for me. Heck, if Aiyuk doesn't return to form, we may even need to be drafting another receiver high. 2. Could we even absorb him under the cap? Or would be be further cutting other talent?

We could use another QB with starting experience. Nothing against Adrian Martinez, but it's hard to trust a QB who has never played in the NFL and wasn't even on the team during TC. Yes, Wilson has been bad lately. Every QB with prior starting experience that is available is a guy that has probably been bad lately. The important thing is to find a guy that is cheap in terms of money/draft capital.

People reacted the same to the idea of bringing in Mac Jones during the offseason, "ew, he sucks" etc. Our coaching staff has found a way to make him look competent. I'm sure they could do the same with other veteran QBs that are currently viewed unfavorably.

lol Lynch I know you're not trying to rattle your locker room but C'mon man you're not fooling anyone. We got a bunch of practice squad players who get very little pressure and then there's Sam O. And Sam O can't do it by himself.

He's not going to sound desperate so teams know that and try to fleece him, the prices are probably too high at this time for the players he wants. He's not stupid, he know with our current edge group without Huff especially ain't making noise against top tier NFC teams

So I know we're supposed to love and root for the TEAM, not just any one player.
But, the way I feel, at this stage: I don't care if they can secure D. Henry, Skattebo, Scooby Doo, and a refurbished Tom Brady too ... I don't want to see the 49ers do anything the rest of this season without a healthy, game-playing Christian McCaffrey in there as part of it.

I don't think we have anyone else on the roster that can do what CMC does and you shouldn't get rid of guys that can do things nobody else can.

Only guy I could see SF moving is JJ and that's unlikely given he's hurt.

SF will likely trade for a DL, but I'm guessing everyone is asking for more (at this pt) than they're willing to give up. Typical with 2 weeks left.

Yeah Jennings is probably our only commodity we would consider trading. If Jiayir Brown was as good as he thinks he is we could probably get something better than a ham sandwich.

Some of these trade proposals from our fanbase are ridiculous. Yesterday someone proposed we trade our 3rd and 4th round picks to the Jets for Jermaine Johnson and Quiennen Williams. Like why in the hell would the Jets do that? You couldn't even pull that trade off in Madden.
