Correct. That's what coaches are supposed to do. Maybe after watching Moody he'll decide that they should move on but at tleast try and see if he can fix the issues he had last season. The guy has a strong leg and was obviuosly better his first year. He started out okay last year but never got back on track after that injury that sidelined him for 3 games. I'd hate to see them release Moody and then seeing him become the kicker the 49ers expected when they drafted him.

Agreed. Have the new STC work with him this offseason yet also bring in some competition. Have some insurance just in case. Want to see how Moody responds. Hopefully, he gets on track and becomes that dependable K this team needs.

Wishnowsky not being the holder likely didn't help. At best it was a non-factor, at worst it was a leading cause, but one thing it was not was beneficial.

Well, Wish has been nails during his time here holding for kicks. Hasn't muffed one hold to my knowledge. He gets it down when the snap is a little off, in the rain, high-pressure moments (snow in GB in the playoffs, SB), etc. Kickers can be quirky and creatures of habit - who knows about not having Wish for so many games. Moody needs to figure it out and get on track.
