Looks like we got a top 5 STC and DC. Although Fassel was my #1 choice, he might not have wanted to work in Cali. We don't know. Boyer has consistently been recognized as at least a top 5-10 guy.

Seems like a great move, and hopefully proves to be the huge upgrade we expect.

We shall see what he can do. Hopefully they give him the resources. 49ers ST haven't been good in a long time.

That will be the key. For too long, STs have been an afterthought for Shanahan. "Just don't lose the game" guarantees that some games will be lost due to a lack of quality players. Boyer will need better depth in linebackers, safeties, and TEs if he is to work some magic and make STs respectable. It wasn't all Schneider's fault in the past.
