But man dude is FRAGILE! He's always hurt. I just don't see him being healthy enough to go through many seasons with a full set of games. I think he was over drafted, has injury concerns, won't play full seasons. To top it off I don't even think WR was our biggest need that year. If it was McKonkey was sitting right there 3 picks later. 1 - 31 to 2 - 34 was the difference. He has proven himself as a difference maker, productive and he can stay healthy. What a raw deal.

The crazy thing is, I don't think he missed a game or was injured in all of his college football career. I'm telling you the Niners have some of the worst injury luck in the NFL, top three for sure
He's had 2 hamstring injuries. One this year (mild) and one last year. Neither required surgery. He also has a shoulder injury that ket himout of pre season. The gunshot wound wasn't a football injury and that caused most of his problems last season. It's way too soon to start saying he's injury prone. If you're going to say he is then I guess that makes Brock injury prone too. He's had 2 injuries and one was serious enough to require surgery.
The repeated injuries are concerning. Hopefully he's isn't turning into Jalen Hurd 2.0.
Discouraging..we should have won it all in Vegas and in 2020 Shanny . Right at the door but couldn't get through.

You're concerned about Pearsall but nt Purdy? Why? QB is amor eimportant positioon and two injuries to the thirwonh arm in 2 years is a bigger deal than 2 hamstring injuries. Players pull hamstrings like it's a bodily function. Kittle had 2 hamstring pulls that caused him to miss 2 games last year. He's had several groin pulls and other injuries.

Injuries are going to happen. Sometimes it's bad luck and sometimes its just the aggressive nature of the player. I'm more concerned about what players do when they're on the field. Jesse Sapolu had a hard time with injuries early in his career. So did Jimmie Ward. Both went on to have nice careers with the Niners.

Pretty clear people don't read. The only injury he's ever had that caused him to miss a game was getting shot. Him going on PUP is a paperwork technicality and may have nothing to do with his availability.

But on the Zone, it means his career as a 49er is at a close, we won't be in the playoffs and Purdy has a weak arm that can't carry us through.

Once again the kid has no missed a start that wasn't related to him getting shot in the chest.

I understand 49ers fans are programmed to overreact to injuries cuz we seem to be snake bit there and having this many guys on injury lists even now sucks. But we have to wait and see what's going on. He may very well not even miss any camp time.

I'm more concerned about Bartch right now. Even then we'll get clarity soon enough. No reason to overreact for the time being at least.

Do any other teams have several players on the list right now? I'm asking because I don't know but I suspect that some do since it's more of a precautionary measure at this point. The important thing is to get healthy enough to practice before the 53 man roster is set so he doesn't miss the first 4 games.

I know the Packers have a bunch of guys on the PUP. Honestly have no idea why some teams jump on this and others don't.

Some people have speculated this move is because they weren't practicing during OTAs and came in early to rehab or whatever and it may simply be very temporary and some guys may be activated as early as the first practice(would be great)

But you never want to see any injury designations if it can be helped and we obviously all hate having to find out for a few days on what the deal actually is.

Modern all-access coverage breaks people's brains :)

Damn on the PUP.

This went under the radar. How bad is it ?

Pathetic

This

A little extreme, no?

It's about kickoff,....not about the start of training camp. The honest truth is we're just rabid, bored sports fans right now with no meat to chew on.

What's silly is not understanding the protocol of being put on PUP. He has to be on the list right now because he was injured in off season programs and in order for him to come in early to rehab he has to be on the list until they actually go on the field on Wednesday.

he can be taken off the list at any point as of Wednesday, much like some of the other players currently on the list…but of course fans are gonna get over dramatic about it

But how is he gonna be able to play after having his legs amputated?
