Next time on 3rd and 4 to win the game he's gonna hit the winning pass too. Will learn and get better.

Yeah I hope in the coming years he will have enough command to gap-fill for the mental and talent lapses on the field. Like telling Burford "hey, you better block Jones" on that 3rd and 4. I'm hopeful that he will be mentally by year 4 what Brady was in year 10. I think Brock's mental game has that trajectory, and we need it because many of the mistakes in the SB were mental lapses (OL false starts, missed blocks, etc.)

Not sure how you conclude this about Shanahan. So, question for you. How old was Andy Reid when he first won a Super Bowl? And how old is Shanahan?

And if you have written off Shanahan, why are you still here?

To this day it is rare to find examples of Kyle admitting mistakes... especially major mistakes. And no one holds him accountable. He's scared of no one.

Jed is still traumatized by the Harbaugh ending.... Kyle is just as intense/intimidating, if not more than Harbs, when it comes to being questioned by someone else regarding his coaching/decisions (remember him scolding his boss... his Head Coach, when Kyle was an OC for the Browns?)...

John Lynch basically got the job because of Kyle..... John doesn't want to be like the original Destiny's Child group members who got kick off because they didn't blindly follow Beyoncé and her Dad. He's fine being the side singers.

Local Media are just happy to be there and don't want to burn any bridges.

We've seen the same mistakes from Kyle for many years. After the Super Bowl post game press conference, Kyle has the same attitude... nothing is changing with him. He doesn't learn from his mistakes. Hell even if he did, he finds new mistakes! (OT decision).

So...other teams are only going to get better.. these other young QBs will only get better..... and even when Brock gets better...Kyle will still be the same. Look at the roster he had English. A Dream Team. And we were finally close to injury free going in. We should have jump on those opportunities in the first half our defense gave to us. The BIG GAME! KYLE SHOULD HAVE SHOWED HIS BEST!

Anyway...even when we make it far again (if we're lucky with a mostly healthy team again), he'll find a way to find a new mistake that will be costly... He can't get out of his own way, because he answers to no one.

You want to wait as long with Kyle Shanahan for a championship ? Andy won his first in his 20th season as head coach. On his second team. His first team won a SB in less than 5 years after they fired him.

If I recall this is Kyle's first crack at head coach. Give the give time to jump that final hurdle. He's shown he can at least get there and he's oh so close

Are we waiting for the 3rd or 4th SB choke job before we finally give up on him ?

For years the Bay Area media has pissed me off. They seem to enjoy the fact they're not New York, Chicago, or Boston and they can sort of " be lazy" and not rip the owners, players, or coaches of the many Bay Area teams when they NEED to be ripped!. They're too nice. If we only had some media out here with some balls and " told it like it was" once in awhile maybe coaches like Shanahan would start feeling some heat and maybe change a bit for the better. Without some REAL criticism like you said they're not accountable. The soft Bay Area sports media needs to hold these guys more accountable.

Most 49ers' fans hate the only member of the local media that I've ever seen grill the 49ers, and that was Lowell Cohn.

He's good in my book for how he went after Jed's head after the failed Chip Kelly experiment.

Sports are supposed to be fun, but when they start messing with your mental health and productivity, that's when it's time to step back a little. Maybe try watching more casually, or shifting focus when the season gets rough, easier said than done, I know.

One thing that's helped me manage stress during football season is stepping outside for a breather and just resetting. Crave Max 2500 has been my go-to when I need a quick break to clear my head. Hang in there, man, at the end of the day, it's just a game, even if it doesn't always feel like it.

Nothing but losing. What's the point? It messes with my mental health and makes me unproductive at work and I neglect other areas of my life during football season.

I don't know what it's like to be a winner. You older folks should appreciate your memories because some of us don't have those.

You need therapy not football

NO need to quit.. you'd like to be there when the 49ers bring back home the trophy... it's actually sooner than later, Shanny's almost done.. you'd like to be there and tell the whole zone that 9MOON WAS RIGHT ALL ALONG ABOUT THAT SORRY KS10 !!

I've been a 49er fan since The Catch, it was my first ever 49er game and little did I know that Clark's catch was going to be historical.. i knew nothing about football back then, so to my eyes, it was just a winning catch... if you think about it, all the wins and great players in the 80s and 90s, I suffer more NOW because of stupid Shanny and his overrated schemes.. but hang in there, we shall rise once again !!!

GO NINERSSSS !!!

Ray Ratto is that guy but since he went to the athletic I've heard nothing from him. He was an honest journalist who was not negative just would hold folks to the fire. He also complements when players are good to great. Very objective, if anyone knows where he is now.

This is what I do. I am 49ers or bust. When we are winning I watch with more investment. When we are losing I disengage and watch them from the periphery. Mid season this year I haven't watched a live game or a full one since. I've not watched any full playoff games either. I come to the zone to check in I watch scores and I stop listening to talk radio or online media about my team

When we are winning I'm a full time fan. When we are losing I'm part time so I can focus on what I can control. Even when we are winning I always keep my affairs the main thing because football is a game but my money and my family is not

So relax because with me it's when the Niners win "we won" but when the Niners lose "they lost"

Real talk!

I will never root for another team but I ain't living and dying on these guys either

Getting close, but not winning, can be worse than losing all the time. The Super Bowl loss to the Ravens sent me into a depression for weeks. That forced me to ask why I was letting this thing bother me so much.

Zen monks used to meditate on the transience of life by sitting with a rotting corpse for a few days. Put the negative sides of the sport into focus. It helps to establish distance.

Football is a bad sport to get too close to. The shifting rules (WWE playoff refs), the ugly injuries, the awful owners, the bursts of negative emotions (losing a big game, seeing a Seahawks logo anywhere, watching opposing players showboat or start fights), the banal stupidity of the media, the list goes on.

An unhealthy relationship with anything is worth breaking from. There's life after obsession with football, and once you're there you look back and shake your head, wondering why you ever cared so much about this billionaire charade.

Yea. I keep football in its place. It is an outlet for my entertainment. What gets you sucked in is what makes it fun. Smack talk with other fans. You become invested from an early age and it grows with you and you begin to live and die with the game until something major happens in your life that forces you to put things in its proper perspective. That thing happened for me and once it did I then put football where it should be. As purely entertainment and a fun hobby of lighthearted smack talk with other fans. It is one of my favorite hobbies but yet still it is a hobby.
what's the follow up did he quit? i hope not

This right here. Forget the Super Bowl. It's obvious we're not winning anything with coach clown. Just some playoff appearances due to a weak division (who beat us up this year btw), and a conference with maybe one or two legit quarterbacks to contend with.

the real silver lining is we're one year closer to kicking Shanahan out the door. The sooner we do this, the sooner we find a legit coaching crew to guide us to the promised land. Check out Chicago. They are going to have Johnson, Allen, and Rizzi leading their coaching department. If Caleb turns out to be a legit QB, Chicago might be a great program for years to come. Meanwhile Kyle the clown is banking on Staley and Sorenson (unless Saleh can't find a job and needs a one year stop gap before he leaves) to lead the way while he sticks with the same game plan for the 8th year in a row.

can't wait until he ships off to Cleveland
We have touched the trophy, but had it snatched away.

Then fallen away dramatically.

Thats the worst feeling in sports for a fan.
