If it's not reconstruction, otherwise he's out until '24.

Torn UCL is what ended Nick Mullens tenure as a 49er...

He had surgery and was back in 6 months.

I swear, Brady can be 80 years old and people will still say go get Brady.

Yah man. He allegedly wanted to come here before and was doubted he could perform. Tampa Bay took a chance and got a ring. Hindsight is always 20/20

49ers haven't won a superbowl since I was 17. Been too long man. I'm ready to take a chance.

We have to get Brady. Who knows how Purdy will heal and if his arm will be the same. If I'm Kyle and John, you can't risk Purdy not being ready for the 2023 season, not with this SB roster. We seen how important the #1 seed is. Let's get Brady and come out the gate firing on all cylinders. Remember Brady won't have to throw it 50 times a game. This might the easiest SB he's ever won. Brady rides off into the sunset and Purdy takes over in 2024.

Schefter is saying it was a complete tear of the UCL. Going to need surgery...hopefully it's not career ending but we haven't seen someone come back from this better.

Baseball pitchers do it all the time, throwing even harder than when they were first injured and its far less of a concern for NFL QB's considering there's less of a load on the UCL.

Being young and having first rate medical treatment at his disposal, there's no reason to think that he won't be able to bounce back. The major loss is going to be an offseason where he could have spent progressing as a passer and further developing.
Is it possible that it could have been a partial tear & could have torn it more by coming back out? Obviously not a dr lol
Trey Lance time. I am gutted for Purdy, though.

Best case. If it's Tommy John, likely the whole 2023 season.

Look at the list of QB's that had Tommy John and how their careers went....

In 1978, sure.

Not sure if Mullens had a complete tear, but he also had surgery. His was in December 2020, and he was healthy enough to be signed by the Eagles in June 2021.

Perspective.

Reiterating this for those melting down.

If you have it reattached is it just as strong ? Hard to tell from Mullins because he had a weak arm. With Tommy John pitchers at least come back with more velocity, but the recovery is much longer.

Looks like Lance starts next season. Get better fast Brock.

This. Kid showed so much heart, I hope it doesn't damage his psyche.
I hate this team
