For a year its doable. 49ers have the run game and the short to intermediate targets that Tampa was lacking, maybe even more if Gronkowski came with Brady as a package deal. Just a matter if both Brady and Shanahan would be willing to swallow some of their pride and work together.

Its impossible to determine whether there's a sprain or a full tear without doing an MRI. If its a full tear, you're not really doing anymore damage anyways.

I was thinking the same thing too. Gronk would come too and this team would be legendary lol

I saw an Eagles fan on Pro Football Talk suggest Purdy wasn't injured but just scared of the moment. If I could punch someone over the internet I would have.

Honestly I expected it was minor....he was throwing on the sideline, and came back in the game.....

I honestly expected it was real, but not major....

I have never heard of such a thing.... I can't believe how tough you have to be to have a total rupture and try to work though the pain to get back in.

I am sure his body was telling him.... "Brock...stop....this is a really bad idea...." and yet he was like... "coach I can't throw the ball more then 10 yards...keep it short if we can...."

Brock is a monster.... that is some serious willpower.

Sucks, hope can be the same Brock steady.

So Purdy's 2023 season could now be in question. Pretty strange to have the Lance thread locked, as it looks more and more like he will again be QB1 to start our season.

Here's the play on which Purdy was injured. Dang, if he only he had gotten the ball out a tick sooner, it might have been a big play rather than a season ender. More than 3 seconds pass from the time of the snap before he winds up to throw, so while you'd like Kroft to hold up a tick longer, it can't be said that there wasn't time.
