QB Brock Purdy Thread

I'd rather my qb be compared to great ones then not at all, maybe that's just me. In the end it is meaningless and doesn't dictate how they will turn out. But I'll take the compliments

Yup, I'll take those over the Heinicke, JG 2.0, Foles, Minshew and other such comps we have all seen floated around

It's also unfair and silly imo, to say things like he will turn to a pumpkin or his silly TD percent from last year will come down, so he will regress and so forth. He's QB1, so can he play on the level of a QB1, think JG. We did well with JG so if he's on that level, he's probably starter for a while, and we hope for better, so we have an elite QB. If someone wants to say Brock could turn into a pumpkin, how can anyone disagree with that? Its absolutely possible. Now most people, myself included, dont believe that will happen. But it absolutely could. You have serious reading comprehension issues.

SWH, you don't seem to get it. Sure anyone can regress. Bosa could regress. Why don't you go to a bunch of player threads, and say this guy will regress. Tell me how it goes. But it would be a lil silly and needless to do so. A bunch of handwringing and negativity, over stuff yet to happen, and may never happen.

You cant be serious. I dont go into Bosa's thread saying he could regress because he has a history of elite play. He was the DPOY. That is NOT a fair comparison in the slightest bit.

He could be a pumpkin or the next Brady. He is trending closer to the latter.

I really was just curious if Kyle has come out and said that he's QB1, last I heard Purdy was the leader in the clubhouse, and obviously he's taken all reps as QB1, but would Kyle say to the media that he's starting this early?

One of the themes from today is that Purdy is similar to Jimmy… we traded 3x 1st rounders tot move on from Jimmy only to land on a cheaper version of the same…

Purdy played very similar to how Jimmy did with CMC.

- to be fair, Jimmy gets you to the playoffs but can't win it all. Seems like a apt comparison

My bad, not trying to assume, ill intent, forgive me here WB. I view him as locked in as starter. He was pretty much named our starter, by both KS and JL, pending health, and he's back to health. He's not playing in the preseason, as he is a starter, and we aren't playing the ones. So he's prax vs Vegas, but gets the game off, with the ones.

this is how I am seeing it characterized, over and over, nationally, locally, you name it:

I swear people don't know s**t if they really think Purdy and Jimmy are the same. Not ONCE would've Jimmy made the throw to run around the pocket and hit Mitchell in the playoffs against Seattle. NOT ONCE Jimmy ever made a play where he ran around the pocket and hit Aiyuk on a dime which he dropped. Jimmy is beyond a statue in the pocket, doesn't see the field and never ever goes deep and if he does it's usually a sickening miss like he did Juice against TEN a couple years ago on near thanksgiving. It's a joke that people would truly believe Purdy and Jimmy are alike
