QB Brock Purdy Thread

The most accurate comp I have heard to Purdy is Tony Romo. I would say Purdy is more accurate and is better under pressure already and Romo has a little bit of a stronger arm

If Purdy plays at the talent level of Romo, with Kyle's scheme and this roster? I think we win it all. I was a big fan of Romo tbh.

Romo is one of the more underrated QBs in recent history. If Brock develops into Tony Romo 2.0, we should all be thrilled.

Easily. If his play is top 5-10 which he played last year like a top 2 qb in the games played we win multiple SB's

Romo was a stud, and I never wanted to admit it when he was a cowboy. I think Brock is better under pressure than him because romo had some serious mess ups in the playoffs. Lol but he was a stud during the season, tough guy.

i always felt like they made a major screw up by starting dam over him when he was healthy. That was a stacked team and dak was so inexperienced.

he didnt just break his ribs, he punctured a lung too. He played really well too. That was the first time I really started respecting him - super tough guy.

I swear people don't know s**t if they really think Purdy and Jimmy are the same. Not ONCE would've Jimmy made the throw to run around the pocket and hit Mitchell in the playoffs against Seattle. NOT ONCE Jimmy ever made a play where he ran around the pocket and hit Aiyuk on a dime which he dropped. Jimmy is beyond a statue in the pocket, doesn't see the field and never ever goes deep and if he does it's usually a sickening miss like he did Juice against TEN a couple years ago on near thanksgiving. It's a joke that people would truly believe Purdy and Jimmy are alike

Jimmy wasn't good enough. Purdy remains to be seen. But the only direct comparison is both guys playing with CMC, and their stats were almost identical. Purdy has demonstrated better RZ performance than any QB under Shanahan. I expect there to be a reduction in Purdy's performance once he becomes the full time starter. I remain hopeful, but it seems like we just replaced Jimmy with a cheaper Jimmy. Not as good of a release but more accurate on longer throws. Slightly less arm strength, improved mobility, and improved RZ production. Not as good of a sneaker.

Why?

The offense was more efficient, scored more points and hit way more explosives with Brock.

Purdy can make a lot more plays off script, and he didn't choke in the playoff.

But the biggest difference is one was 9 years in the league, and the other one was a rookie.

Everyone that likes to say he's Jimmy forgets that little caveat. If he was Jimmy, already, as a rookie who started off with 3rd string reps, then it isn't hard to believe that he will be better then Jimmy. Personally, I thought he was better than Jimmy and I saw the difference immediately in his very first game that he came in for him.
