What will Jimmy's trade value be in the offseason?

LOL. No. Their logic is that elite players should be pickier with what teams they get traded to than average players. Which should be common sense, but here we are.

How this is even debatable is beyond me

Sorry to harp on you love your dedication on here and you clearly study the game pro and college so no hate here. But saying Banks hasn't shown anything. I swear I've seen people say the same about Lance and you jump down their throat. Rookies struggle. We complain about JG but TL did not beat him out. Thomas struggled I will admit but then his quality started to come through with play time. Banks give him a start maybe? Just one? How about a preseason start for Banks then lets see what we got

Lance was good in college. Banks was not. Lance actually looked like he belonged in preseaon banks looked like the worst lineman on the field vs future Insurance salesman.

You're saying banks was good vs the jags and someone posted one of his 5 reps where he looked like a human turnstile. So forgive me that I don't have in Joshua garnett 2.0

Maybe we are close to some agreement here. I agree rough rookie year. Never said he was good vs Jags you may be getting this convo mixed up with someone else. I'm thinking for Banks he probably had a lot of college fat no way do you come out in the 330 range without a lot of fat. He is hitting the NFL weight room for close to a year now they got him on a body transformation. It will be different.

Lynch talks about him reshaping his body:

it's all good, keep on panicking

You didn't even watch the plays and said he played well lol. How's that any different then saying he didn't play this yr which my god 5 snaps in a blowout game is more or less NOT playing and he wasn't even great in those 5 snaps. It's on film man.

you want to hope someone becomes good who hasn't been fine. I'll say the OL is worse now than it was last yr and asking for the FO to pay a little damn money on proven talent isn't some massive request imo.

Also no one wants Jimmy because of his shoulder injury not because of the player he is. How you people can't process that is beyond me, you guy act like he didn't do s**t to help the team get to the Super Bowl and playoffs.

This fanbase is getting to be embarrassing. No wonder they call us whiners.

Stop saying Jimmy has a no-trade clause to waive he never had that for this season. Stop bringing it up.

if someone really really wanted him he would be on another team. His injury would not make a team pass on some great QB….I mean if Watson was coming off the same injury you think no one would have gotten in line to trade for him lol? Stop. Teams were lining up for him even while being a sexual predator.

So you want me to stop bringing up the truth to support me. Lol okay. But you want us to believe Jimmy turned down Washington but have nothings to back it up. This is hilarious.

I never said Jimmy was on the same level, lets get that straight first. I know teams wanted Wilson and Watson over Jimmy, I think that was pretty obvious so I'm not sure where you're taking this??

It's not Banks fault he was drafted so high. I have hope for him and as we know with Tomlinson, young Offensive lineman need seasoning and it usually takes several seasons.

I think people are frustrated at JL and KS approach with the OL vs the players themselves. If anything, our OL room as a whole has outperformed their perceived ability.

Minus MM probably.

Sounds identical to Joshua garnett. He feet are slow and the only thing that made him okay in PP at ND was the fact that he was a big man…and let's stop acting like he's some raw IOL who played on some tier 2 program in college. He was at freaking notre dame for years. One of the best colleges at getting OL where they need to be…top end OL coaching.

I would love nothing more than for him to come out and be at least as good as Laken. The reality of it is he most likely won't. I wasn't the only person underwhelmed with the pick and the fit either.

listen man not every guy that comes to SF is gonna be good. No need to defend every single player and move.

And I agree with this…it isn't his fault he was a top 50 pick. In no world is he a top 50 talent and most people knowledgeable enough with the draft and OL agree the pick/fit made little sense.

the OL is worse now then it was last yr at this pt….it's mind blowing that people really don't want to upgrade the OL in FA and would rather have Jimmy and his money on the books right now. I feel like every SF fan would have been on the same page with this lol

Yup I agree. I say this let's give him some starts if he sucks and doesn't improve game to game then we know we need to move on. If he improves game to game let's see where that takes us how good he can get. I think they should add a fringe starter G as a backup plan or competition for the other guard spot should Banks struggle. But before I write him off outright I'd like to see more than 5 snaps.

Jimmy is a QB who is in the last year of his contract. Any team trading for him will want to renegotiate a new contract with him. It doesn't matter whether he is elite or average. If a team is willing to shell out 2 2nd round picks (you can say he is average but 2 2nd round picks are pretty valuable) - the team will like to know if Jimmy plans to stay with them beyond this year.

It is well within Jimmy's right to say - I will not re-sign with you as a FA. Jimmy has every right to say where he will NOT play when he becomes a FA. Nothing to do with elite or average and nor does it have anything to do with him dictating anything. He is just exercising his right as a FA in 2023.

no sacks, no run stuffs, no punt or FG blocks.. is playing well. if he did anyone of those in the time he was out there you would be going crazy. Moore played well also

proven talent... why aren't you giving Lance the same ridicule?

FA isn't over my man..relax

Yup. One rough aspect is the injury history. Really didn't have an extensive injury history when we gave him the $137m. Now he does. And he's older. Any club may want $15m / year range that Winston was around, and he may totally balk at that as it's a 40% pay cut. Who here would sign up for losing 40% of your check? JL got his work cut out gotta get JG on board with any trade, JG's agent, a new club, get the proper comp, real challenge, he's up to it though imo.

If Watson was in his last year of his contract and told interested teams - you can trade for me but I will not re-sign with you next summer - do you think those teams would still be lining up for him?

Jimmy's agent pulled a fast one on this FO. He negotiated a NTC in 2021 and he got essentially another NTC in 2022 without having to negotiate for it - bc he can dictate where he will play by saying - I won't re-sign with you in 2023. Smart move by the agent.

In some universe I could see the Jets, who have experience on staff working with JG, flipping like a 3rd or 4th or something for a one year rental on JG, if Wilson is not at all ready and needs more development. They could have a solid starter while grooming Wilson as the future guy. Wilson would still have 2023 and 2024 under contract. This only happens if they are really discouraged by what they see in Wilson when camp rolls around. He did not look good in 2021. Could happen.

Not really. He can either get Jimmy on board OR the team on board. If the team only wants him for a year or two, to ̶g̶r̶o̶o̶m̶ keep the team afloat for his eventual replacement, they may be fine with the current contract and one possible Franchise tender. Jimmy, on the other hand, can be sad about it, but he's not going to hold out, nor would it be wise to do so.

Possibility. I personally think you develop a QB by playing him. Also, I think a new coaching staff at least gets 3 years (if not more) to prove themselves. So, they're not under any pressure to make such a move. They'll be better served to develop Wilson by playing him. They have 2 top 10 picks and 2 picks at the top of 2nd round. They can easily play the waiting game and suck for another year and get high draft pick without any real consequences.
