Joe Montana: Cool Under Pressure

Guys, this is SOOOO good.

Cool side story...Bill Walsh eased Montana in for nearly two years and started then bringing him in only for RZ plays inside the 5 only (because he could run keepers). And when Deberg was traded, a pure pocket passer, Walsh started using Montana on the move a ton.

lol Young was literally league MVP. 🙄

Charles Haley got traded after he threatened Jerry Rice. It had nothing to do with which QB could control him.

who cares about mvp.. when he could not win the big game. two years in a row. oh,, charles got traded cuz he peed on the car of tim harris among other things.. you keep joe and you keep lott.. major mistake... they could have kept charles under control

Anyone believe the so-called "GOAT" of this era or any of the great QB's wouldn't have folded in that Eagles game? I don't believe not one of them would have played in the second half‼️ Hell, I didn't want Joe to play the second half‼️ But when he came in, something was telling me that Philly was in trouble‼️

Oh yeah! I can totally see Brady, Manning, Brees, or Rogers getting sacked EIGHT times on that painted concrete they called a field and then throwing 4 Q4 TD's to win the game.
[but I had to take a hit of LSD to see it]

Of all the games I watched at home (not in person) I think that one was the one I went the craziest. I was screaming so loud that my neighbors asked me the next day what was going on. I imagine that the Eagles defenders were just shaking their head after that game asking themselves "how do you beat a guy like that"?

This.

Yup. I loved Young but he did not play as well against the better defenses in the playoffs. They could neutralize his scrambling and he had to throw it from the pocket more. We had to get a super team for him to get a ring.

I haven't seen it,but remember Walsh saying that in some interview. Wanting to put Joe in these situations early on where he knew he could be successful. By far and away my favorite way of bringing along a quarterback and a practice Ive adopted in my own career lol.

I just thought that was a VERY interesting parallel to our current situation too.

Fortunately, the Niners only spent a single 3rd on Montana

How many episodes is this going to be? Really don't feel like paying for peacock. Pay for so many streaming services anyway. Does it air on tv?
