It would have been brutal.

100% truth. Especially with Kittle missing

Jimmy would have gotten sacked like 10 times in this game. Trey Lance using his legs bailed him out and I cant believe we are going back to Garoppolo
Defense only giving up 17 we would have won with Jimmy.
Perhaps but I would play Lance. Over time that's the smarter move.
There were a couple of drives that trey extended in ways Jimmy simply couldn't. At the same time Jimmy is more efficient over the middle and may not have need those types of plays to get the first down.
Overall I don't think Jimmy v Trey is a case of this one's not better than the other by a large margin. To me they're both different shades of limitations. Difference is, Jimmy is what Jimmy is, we don't know what Trey will be yet. Long term we're better off with Trey.
Having said that, if today is an example of how we're going to play Trey then I'm not keen on seeing that for another 12 weeks. If Trey is too raw to run a proper offense or be trusted to pass then I'd rather he sit than take that sort of punishment week in and week out.
Theyre gonna miss the playoffs regardless so why not get Trey starts especially with Jimmy wont be here next year.

trent williams just told the media he has no problems with the rook with how he moved the offense up and down the field, with his arm and with his legs.

Wasted effort by the defense. I don't understand why Kyle didn't just take the points when we were in field goal range? I understand that Arizona's offense is explosive, but the defense was keeping them in the game.
That last touchdown basically ended the game. You kick a FG on the 1st 2 4th attempts, it's 6-10 game at the half. There was 7 minutes left on that 4th down play. If you pin AZ back, maybe that last score is a field goal instead of a TD, or maybe the 49ers stop them like they did for most of the 2nd half. The Cards were 3-10 on 3rd down.
Just bad coaching decisions IMO.
