Defense only giving up 17 we would have won with Jimmy.

Hey at least we are good at it!

True. Can't be mad at that.

Perhaps but I would play Lance. Over time that's the smarter move.
Frustrating game, like so many have been.
Their DL kicked our OL's butt, over and over, on 4th and 1.
But keep starting Lance!

Yep. Terrible play calling much of the game. Not one HB screen that I could recall when they were blitzing nearly every down it seemed. 4th down play calling was especially awful. Travis Benjamin over Aiyuk? I get wanting to draw the defense deep but Benjamin is washed up. The OL was pretty dismal. The defense for once was actually solid most of the game.

Lance could be good but he needs a lot more practice. The kid doesn't have a lot touch yet. Personally I think it's better if Lance goes back to being a back up this season and comes in on certain packages to do more than just run, maybe fake a run and air it deep, etc). That could be a tough system to defend. If the Niners fall out of playoff contention, then go ahead and start him. We get a bye next week, so maybe players can heal up a bit. If we can't beat the Colts and Bears then our season is pretty much done.

There's no way Kyle gets fired this year, right or wrong. Next year will be make or break. He'll be fresh out of excuses if he can't succeed with Lance next year.

I think we would have gotten beaten more badly with Jimmy.
Possibly, no points.
The OL played poorly.
But, we'll never know.
I think it is obvious that Lance should start.

Need to fix the holding to stay ahead of the chains.
penalties and dropped passes
Lance f**king left on it all the field, kid wants to win and no one came deny that.

like others said the game doesn't look to big for him, he needs more reps more time being the starter…this team goes for Jimmy to Lance and it's two totally different styles of play.

Shanny looks like to be yet another brilliant OC who might not be a good HC.

He's a good HC, but his biggest weakness is that he has a very specific scheme that needs to be in sync. So when guys are constantly in and out of the lineup sue to injuries, that timing is off, and the offense cannot be sustained.

Now, Kyle's approach was a great way to win in the NFL in the 80s-00s. But the last 10 years of the NFL it is archaic to expect rhythm/system offense. There are just too many injuries, too many free agency changes, and too little college prep for those types of offenses. The West coast offense based on timing and rhythm is as archaic as the RB centered offenses of the 60s and 70s. In the NFL of 2021 its all about having 3-4 great WR/TE/RB in the pass pattern, and a QB who can chuck it and/or run it, or even better, chuck it when running it.

Brady is the lone exception, because he's essentially his own HC/OC.
He's not a good HC.

Beg to differ. Most HC cannot overcome rotating personnel.

He'll win a SB or two as HC eventually. Just a matter if it is with SF or another team. Probably the latter because the 49er fan base can't tolerate any setbacks. "SB or bust" is a great attitude to have.... when the team is winning SBs. This franchise hasn't won a SB in 27 years. Time to put SB or bust in the trash heap. Gotta look at long term, and that means taking the lumps with a HC who is going through struggles when he's shown he CAN win in the past. Gotta give him time to see if he can adjust his offense to current NFL and not be so reliant on a run game that can't keep RBs on the field. Time to see if KS will dig into his vertical passing game with Lance over time as Lance learns the playbook.
31-38 regular season coaching record.

The rotating personal, this is his hand picked roster.

He's just may end up with his 4th losing season in 5 years when all is said and done this season....you can't excuse that kind of production.

if so, how valuable was the draft pick we gave away for Lance?

The defense was the ONLY reason this was close. Trey is garbage. I didn't see ANYTHING positive. Not one play. Garbage.

Dude stfu you're garbage
Go root for somebody else you tw*t
No Kyle is garbage. They went with a backup qb who isn't NFL ready. Kyle should be fired

The refs are garbage. The holding calls cost us.

Went backwards 40 yards in one single drive with the flags f**king ridiculous

And when was the last time we saw a hold against our dline besides the nonsense with the hold not being a safety.

If that was Lance's floor then I'm excited to see what he can become….Rome wasn't built in a day
