How long will JimmyG retain the 49ers starting job?

Trey is only 19. It seems that he is more NFL ready than Alex Smith was when Alex was 19 and starting for us. We shall see when Kyle feels like he is ready. One thing we all know is that Kyle is a throw them in the fire type of coach, but a lot has been invested in Trey so I don't think Kyle is going to take that risk.
As long as he is healthy he will be starting. I don't think there is a game where I thought he should be legitimately benched aside from injury.

He'll be 21 next week

He's going to be 21 soon. Still younger than I am.

He was 19 when he played last. People confused cause his team took a COVID year off.
Depending on the season, maybe 2.
Assuming they are winning at the same rate they always have when Jimmy is in, why would they want to take him out until Lance is truly ready to explode.

However, ff he gets hurt even for a game and Lance looks good I don't think Jimmy will see the field again and be traded/cut in the off season.

I think this is the same scenario of Smith/Kaepernick. Jimmy is proven to be a very good QB, Lance needs to develop but will hopefully be a GREAT QB!

It can/should work just as well as it did in the past.
As long as they don't trade Jimmy too soon, alienate the coach until he quits, have the D retire at the same time, and then hire a plumber to be the new head coach. I'm thinking they learned their lesson but who know? I would have said that when they hired Harbaugh but Jed and Co. still found a way to drive the bus straight off a cliff for a couple years.
Not get injured. Covert key 3rd downs. Win SB.

Damn, he's so elite that he's skipping years now.
After the Super Bowl Win next year
Go Jimmy!

Man, I keep typing 19 like I used to keep typing Pettis when I meant Kittle.

If that team needs a new starter
If it offers at least a round one selection for Jimmy
If ShanaLynch feels that's enough
If Shanahan is assured that Lance is ready,
Maybe during the season.

Jimmy will start the entire season if hes healthy, and if he does, we contend for the playoffs. Period. There's no scenario where we trade Jimmy now. Either he's healthy and good and we're competing, or hes hurt or he sucks and theres no market for him.

Lance won't be ready to play this year either way.

Yup. Healthy Jimmy = instant SB contention.

NFCC: Jimmy takes out TG12. Revenge Tour.
