I think the over/under is 7 games. Some combination of injury, poor play, and/or Lance just being better than Jimmy will push them to make the switch.
And I doubt heavily that Jimmy will actually get traded, I think he'll get cut. Unless he has a renaissance season. I can't imagine he has much trade value if Bridgewater was traded for a 6th and his contract isn't as big an albatross as Jimmy's is.
If Alex Smith can have a Renaissance season with mahomes behind him, Jimmy can too. Everyone acts like he's some pushover scrub. Only an injury will unseat jimmy. I expect a big season from him
And the thing is, probably the same people who said Bridgewater wasn't an upgrade over Jimmy are saying if Bridgewater only fetches a 6th round pick then that doesn't bode well for Jimmy's trade value.
That just goes to show how jumbled up
some people's minds here have become over Jimmy G.
If the vast majority opinion is he's better than Bridgewater at least than it doesn't matter what Denver paid for him. Bridgewater has settled in as a backup/short term starter and that's what the league as a whole seems to think he is. Jimmy may or may not be trending that way if he keeps missing time due to injury. But as it is, he still has the 2019 season in which he was a Pro Bowl alternate and he has supposedly the greatest coach of all time who would have made him his starter this year if we had traded him back to New England.
It's like people get caught up in the negatives and maybe what he can't do, or hasn't shown he can do, and ignore the big picture that he's a more than competent NFL starting QB.
