Realistically looking at the situation who is under center 2021?

Isn't JGs no trade clause a moot point this offseason? If we want to move on from Jimmy bad enough, he has to accept a trade.

Otherwise we just cut him and he loses his salary all together. His no trade clause doesn't hold much leverage.

Correct...sort of. I mean it depends on how confident he is. We can cut him for virtually nothing and he would be able to go wherever for whatever he can get. His leverage is in the fact that he would have torpedoed the deal we would be making with another team. So it is in our best interest to work out a three way deal to a place he wants to end up or makes sure any dance partner that would include him is a place he wants to be in the event he decides to play chicken. But you are right it is far from a zero sum solution that he can just decline. If he does he loses what might be the biggest contract he will see for a long time if ever.

LOL horrible takes on Stafford abound. I don't even address them anymore.

If the Niners feel the window has closed, then they should draft defense, a developmental qb and sign a vet qb.

If the Niners feel the window is open, Jimmy G or another stud of the above.

Or the Niners draft best qb at number 12, and you have 5 years of salary cap joy to build a great team.

It depends on if they move on from Jimmy. If they don't, I say whoever is the backup, going by his track record. If they don't move on, then I hope he can stay on they field, because he's proven that he's good enough to win with this team.

We're likely to have Jimmy one more year. I see 9ers drafting an edge rusher with #12, then guard/center, then development QB, then DBs. Watson will likely end up with the Jets, Stafford with Washington, and Rodgers staying in GB.
