Quite possibly
We could/should end up with a better version of Jimmy G, Deebo and Bosa.
We could end up with a full season of Kittle too.....
There are lots of reasons to think the offense will out performance last year.

Are the Niners better of worse than their Super Bowl team after the draft?

Impossible to say that we're better. We'd need a couple draftees to turn into starters for that to happen, which remains to be seen.
We weren't good enough to win a superbowl last year, and I think we're still in that same boat.

Better on offense if our players come back healthy - jet, Hurd, Trent.
Defense TBD on Kinlaws performance

Yeah. Objectively, no. But certainly younger, replaced talented players with talented players and added a lot of cap space for the future.
We may not be as good initially but there's a very real chance they could be better by the end of the season, health and development permitting.
Yep to both NC and Hoov.
The possible upside for this season IMHO is even higher than last.
For sure and I'm excited to see who comes back from injury and contributes and who takes the next big developmental step.
Some early sleepers: Jerick McKinnon, Jason Verrett, Jalen Hurd and Travis Benjamin (ST mostly and veteran WR to help groom Aiyuk but continue at X initially).
I'm not so sure Verrett can return to form as a starter. Even when "healthy" it was clear his training and rehab speed was a bit slower than NFL speed. He'll be fighting for a spot. Interested to see how Jet returns given the press we've heard. Speaking of Hurd, can't wait to see him in action but I hope he plays smarter and protects himself. Benjamin is like Verrett to me (interesting both from the Chargers formerly) - he'll have to prove he can be more available and have a greater impact than Goodwin and will need more than just speed to his game. As Kyle has said, he's not really interested in players who can only do one thing. It's going to be real battle this year for WR at camp. I see only 2 locks - Deebo and Aiyk. Everyone else is expendable to some degree and will legit battle for a spot.
I love underdogs but generally agree on Verrett; long shot but don't count that guy out just yet. There's a reason they resigned him. I don't know if he'll get back to form for outside but don't be surprised if he gets back to health and is worked in nickel/dime...some slot.
Jet and Hurd would be huge for this offense!

^^^just out of curiosity, what happens exactly, if Bourne, deebo, Aiyuc, AND KITTLE , all come out of the chute on fire, and then Jet, Hurd, and TT all return to top form? What exactly would we do? And that doesn't even include Au Jus. IDK, but would sure be interested to see it. I guess we would lose some really tip flite players....or pay someone on IR?

Lol wut? They were plenty good enough to win, they just got outfoxed. This wasnt rams vs pats. Niners owned the entire playoffs until 7 minutes left, not bad for a severely less experienced team than who we were facing each game.

But the defense won't be as good as last year's. I just hope that they can be decent this year.

Indeed. You don't have a 10 point lead in the super bowl with 7 min left to play without being "good enough to win". They just couldn't close and had a few breaks go against them, happens all the time across all sports.

On paper they're objectively worse. For next year Buckner >> Kinlaw, Sanders >> Aiyuk, and Staely <= Williams. But the reason I think the team will actually be better is Jimmy Garoppolo. His numbers improved in almost every category over the last 9 games of the season. I think he takes a step forward and, therefore, the team will be better.

With all of their turnover the 49ers still have to prove themselves this year. I think they have the potential to be better, but it is still too early to tell.
If the young players round into form I expect the team will be playing better at the end of the season than they will at the start.
If that proves true I think we'll be better in the playoffs this season than we were last year. That said, we have a long way to go.
I hope they play the 2020 season so we get to find out.

Don't forget add by substraction of Mike Person, when Brunskill showed he's the better player. Expect improvement from Garoppolo, Emmanuel Moseley, Deebo Samuel, DJ Jones and others. Now add the health factor of Jalen Hurd, Trent Taylor and Mckinnon. If they stay healthier than last year, the team is better.

Why won't defense be as good as last year? Besides Buckner who else did we lose on defense?

how did the rams stay the same?
Because they sucked in 2019 and they will suck in 2020.
Rams lost Littleton, Matthews, Roby-Coleman and Fowler on D. Added Leonard Floyd to replace Fowler.
Lost Greg the Leg on ST's.
Lost Gurley and Cooks on offense.
Not exactly staying the same IMO.
