lol what

If we made a good offer to him before the wide receiver market exploded, we would have already locked him up.

Instead, he sees players like Amon St. Brown getting $30M and clear #2 WRs like Devonta Smith getting $25M a year, and we have people wondering why he wont sign for $26M.

Do you have any proof to this claim? No. Didn't think so. Lol

Dude what? Almost 100% of the posts in this thread in the last couple weeks arent supplied with "proof."

What an odd question to come at me with.

So how do you know they didn't make him a good offer?

He's definitely asking for a ton of money. It pretty well sets him up for life if he manages his finances well. 49ers might go a bit towards the McVay cap binge and purge route with Aiyuk. Basically McVay bought a Super Bowl a la the '94 49ers. We shall see.

If he cared solely about then money he'd be in a patriot uniform by now

The problem is he wants the money and to be on the Niners. But the Niners don't overpay for players, and the team is balanced because of that. A big part of our success. Either be down with that and sign the damn contract or go get your bag for a crap team.

Worst case scenario, 49ers keep Aiyuk till the end of the trading period in October, and just wait for a team to get some WR injuries and trade Aiyuk to that desperate team. Again, that's NOT what I want. I want Aiyuk a happy 49er and retire as a 49er, but boy, it's tough to be optimistic about that right now.

I like Cosell, but if he is implying that because he isnt a top 4-5 WR, he shouldnt be paid, then his logic is flawed. Look at the top 4-5 QBs in the league. Those are the top 4-5 QBs in terms of salary.

wasnt meant to be an argument. Was just highlighting that BA is probably trying to get what he feels others on the team have gotten

IMO that DJ Moore deal is fair. Maybe a little bit more.

Hope hope! 🙏🙏🙏

Reportedly it was $26 per yr (which means nothing without context of the full deal) apparently via through his personnel WR coach Houshmandzadeh, he's willing to take $28M per.

That's waddle/moore money. SF from what we've heard hasn't offered anything since May, hopefully that's changed

It wasnt good enough for him to sign. Good is subjective. It wasnt good enough at the time (in BA's eyes), is what I meant.

And I would take BA over both of them.

That's what he should be getting paid and SF should be willing to give him a little more and add some fluff to boost up that APY.

If 28 has been his number this whole time this deal should have been done LOOOOONG time ago. They should easily be able to make this work

Agreed
$28m a year seems like a win-win for Aiyuk/SF at this point, IMO. A little higher than SF wanted ($26m), a little lower than Aiyuk was reportedly trying to get ($30-32m), but on a top tier team he fits really well with. Make it happen, guys.

Of course, $28m in CA is less than $28m in other less taxed states, so that probably factors in.

It would be nice if there was a way to make the cap number variable to after state tax rates were accounted for to make it more equal, but that's never gonna happen.

I think 28 is fair and also see the rationale on their part for 26. Just get it done
I wonder if it's not just the per year, but the % guaranteed?
