At least Hufunga is playing. And will probably make the Pro Bowl this year

Not behind this Dline. Behind Denver's yes. Behind a fully healthy Dline here, possibly. Can't analyze these things in Isolation. Too much of that going on.

Smart guy

His estimated net worth is 12.5 Million and has so far bought a 4M mansion, a home in Reno, a Lamborghini, just bought two of the same chains and blew off 25M

His knee and career are shot; glad this costly soap opera is over. Can't remember a time I was happier to see a player off this team.

Aldon Smith? From say the 2014 NFCCG to cut 19 months later. Its about the same window for Aiyuk- Super Bowl to say August to November 2025

I thought it came out that they voided the guarantees back in training camp, not yesterday. Either way, I'm not sure I'd be splurging on two necklaces that probably cost $500+ each if I was him.

This is why I no longer subscribe to cable TV, nor will I subscribe to any NFL package. If the NFL wants to put games on free, over the air, networks I will watch those games. It's also why I will not purchase tickets to see anymore NFL games live. If there are others who want to subsidize this kind of activity, go to town. I won't do it. BA is really making the entire NFL bad with this activity. Just my opinion. Nothing more.
Lots of this story as we know it makes no sense. If his contract was voided back in training camp for not participating, that conflicts with the positive narrative (and video proof) of BA jogging routes before a pre season game where he clearly is with the team.

Players come and go, the troubling thing about this to me isn't BA, it's the 49ers decision making and waffling. Either you want the player and sign him knowing there is a risk of injury (which you already factor into the deal you offer), or you plan to part ways and maximize your value in the asset via trade. The last thing you do is sign the player who doesn't want to be there to a huge deal and then regret it. That's just dumb. But that's clearly what happened here. And BA is a player that they had known for 4 years when they extended him, so nothing about him should have been a surprise. Just another colossal f up by this FO.

According to Kyle all of this stuff happened back in July and that he had nothing to do with it. It was most likely Jed York/Paraag looking for an excuse to claw back some money and using lawyers to find a way that Aiyuk violated some fine print in the contract.

True

He wore the wrong color shorts.

Yeah, so the story is basically that the 49ers regretted giving BA the contract and wanted out of it. This is all an indictment of extreme mismanagement by the 49ers.

The team has great coaching overall which has covered up the disaster in personnel for years. Imagine if the personnel side were even just a bit better, not making huge blunders like this one or the trade up in the 2021 draft

I hadn't heard anything about Jed having something to do with the void, but I wonder what was specifically in the contract that he violated.

It must've been legit bad enough that Aiyuk admitted it wasn't worth fighting.

Ha, that was tongue in cheek about Jed. Lombardi added this:

They said I hated BA for simply pointing out the obvious.

Remember when people tried to pretend that BA's posts on his YouTube account were about the media.

If reports are to be believed Aiyuk was on his way to Pittsburgh and went to Kyle saying he wanted to stay and Kyle nixed the deal unfortunately.
