Even if he is back week 1, it's very likely he'll make little impact on the field. We saw what BA looked like last year without camp and preseason. Now, add in coming off a major knee injury... don't expect him to do much for awhile.

The sooner he gets back the sooner he can get back to playing good ball…thankfully we got an easy ass schedule and guys like JJ/Kittle and CMC

I think it's a virtual certainty that the team will PUP him which means he can't come back week 1, or 2, or 3, or 4 ... but he also can't practice with the team until then, so he might not even come back on week 5.

They want to make sure he's not going to struggle.

I guess part of it is how the other players do in the pre-season. If it's a nightmare maybe they keep him on the 53 ... but it seems unlikely.

I hope he is ready week 1. I don't care if he starts or just get 6 snaps a game. Let's Go BA!

Even if he's cleared and says he's good to go, I hope Shanny let's him come along slowly until later in the season... he'll be a serious problem for defenses in the playoffs / SB

Id like to see some positivity from him personally rather than coaches holding his hand saying "Here you can help me coach up the new guys" If he took that upon himself that might mean somthing.
Dude seems to have a negative attitude and I can't recall the last time if ever he was positive

Multiple reporters like TK have said that is what they've been told. They get info from the inside all the time. So yes they did leak it to reporters.

the FO handled it horribly and they get zero "bad guys vibes" like BA does. Like I said everyone handled it poorly including our thin skinned fans

That still doesn't mean they did reporters could have got it from the patriots side as well and again if you agree on terms with the patriots and it falls through you have to give an explanation.

The front office could have handled it better sure but Ayuik handled it far worse and continues to stir the pot into this offseason. He's not AB or TO crazy but he doesn't seem happy

A lot of the time "secret" information becomes public because of agents involved, but usually only when they think they can get something out of it. If we are going to theorize that this came from BA's agent then the only reason I can think of was to drive a wedge between BA and the 49ers or if he thinks he can manipulate the FO to giving more or moving faster. If any of that is true that's not that good an agent.

I don't know or really care where it came from, it doesn't really matter much.

Bleacher Report, which I'm indifferent to, and ESPN I think, have called Aiyuk's contract one of the worst in the league. John Lynch says that there are no issues between Aiyuk and the team and that he is recovering well from his surgery. All of those things can be true at the same time. It will be up to Aiyuk to go out and prove the first one is false. Let's hope he does. If he misses any significant time at all he is, literally, going to have to hit the field running, because any time he misses gives Watkins and Cowling an opportunity to shine.

We WANT Watkins and Cowing to shine. Right now the first 3 games are going to be one of them as the #3 WR it seems.

Jennings and Pearsall are penciled in as starters. Cowing is assumed to be WR3. 4 and 5 are entirely up to the new kids TAKING the jobs.

Who was talking about historically? Under KS/Lynch they've been great about keeping things in house. Like I said if they did leak it, it would at last be warranted, they found a trade partner that offered what we asked and was willing to give Ayuik his $ but he shut it down. Ayuik essentially wasted both their time in trade negotiations

The 49ers are patient with injuries. I'd expect him to be practicing early part of the season and not making it into games until Dec. Hopefully, he looks good in those games and attracts a trade in the 26 league year.
