LOL. To his point, it doesn't matter in the playoffs if OL are just allowed to hold the entire game.

I think we know what the Bengals offseason plan entails.

I'm no expert but that data suggests non-injured players have much better scores

Yup, and looks like keeping Ebukam, Key, and Omenihu would be one of the goals of the organization. Arden Key is the UFA along with DJ JOnes that I'm really hoping they can re-sign for a much longer contract.

I highly doubt Ebukam is back, 8.5 mil cap hit. We've shown plenty of times that we can get solid production out of DL for cheap.

Continuity is important for as system just as much as being durable for a player during a 16 game season.

Restructuring his contract is the answer to this dilemma

Well i think ShanaLynch will offer him a fair bargain, but I agree with you that there is a ton of demand for any DLineman that has the potential to rush the passer. I hope Kerry Hyder's experience will deter some of our unrestricted free agent DLinemen to forego the dollar to a certain extent and stay to bolster their resume long term with the 49ers, and maybe get a bigger payday and a longer career down the road.

Man, i really agree with you Giedi, that I wish our DL guys (and others) rather than leaving after a yr or 2 would stay around and learn more. They definitely will make themselves more valuable 2 yrs or even 3 yrs later.

Doc, just went over to the draft nerds DLine threads, man o man, they say that this draft is deep in edge rushers! If we can sign DJ Jones and Kinlaw rehabs to 100% health, and we can get a good day two pick (or even maybe package a Jimmy trade) to a late day 1 pick, there are (supposedly from the Draft Nerds board here) good DLine and OLine picks that will really help our team.

I'm really worried about losing Jones, he's such a major piece to the rotation. But you're right if we can resign him, Kinlaw is finally healthy and starts showing out with another edge rusher this team will be a serious problem

Not too worried about Jones, considering we have Arik. Arik and Bosa are a good combo, and Kinlaw *might* be better than DJ Jones. We do have Givens as a DT on the team. If Jimmy's cap hit can be traded away, I'm confident we can get DJ JOnes because the new contract cap hits for Bosa and Deebo won't hit until 2024, and by then the cap (per AB81) should be going up as we're getting out of this covid situation now.

Kinlaw might be better than DJ Jones someday, but right now, it's not close. DJ Jones is a significantly better player against the run AND a pass rusher. DJ simply doesn't get the opportunities to rush the QB on money downs because he wasn't the 14th overall pick in the 2020 draft. But even in base on limited rush reps, DJ has consistently shown he's much better than Kinlaw in every aspect.

If we lose DJ our defense immediately takes a decent step back IMO.

I wish we could get rid of MM or Ward instead :/
