Marvin!
Thanks so much for posting. So glad to see you back. I rarely post here. Almost never. But I always look forward to your posts. Greatly appreciated. Even when we're losing-- especially when we're losing!

And here's a dose of reality...... with Jimmy Garoppolo we would be 7-3. There's no denying that it's pretty damn obvious. I seem to remember Dallas without Romo and Green Bay without Rogers sucking but hey let's say their coach sucks. That makes perfect logical sense. It's too easy to make realistic arguments especially against the very few that are negative on purpose.
Keep up the great work Marvin
Lol okay.
Haha an otherwise fine post.. but umm.. there's plenty to deny on the "fact" that we'd be 7-3. Where did you get that from? Did you just make up that fact that we can't deny?
Jimmy didn't start the year out on fire & we had a TON of injuries early on. Still, we'd definitely be sitting prettier than 2-8. I think we'd more likely be in the 4-6 win range.
It's all moot but this team would definitely be at least 6-4 and a good shot at 7-3 with Garoppolo - they would have won one or both of the games vs. SD & GB, two wins vs. AZ, plus wins vs. Det, Oak & NY last night. Regardless, we're seeing more of this team's deficiencies that a QB like Garoppolo helps mask. These last six games are really going to shake out the roster that much more to see which players are going to be key contributors for next year and beyond.

I mean, as much as it reads like it'd be true.. you're saying JimmyG means we win every single game except for the Rams game.
First off - I feel much better thinking that
but yeah I think we still we would've lost another game or two just by the talent we have. It's definitely not a fact either way. BUT we have a bright 2019 coming with Jimmy back & the tools - cash + high draft picks - to fix up our holes. We've already been super competitive in almost every game.. we just need to hit that next bump.

Agree with everything you have to say, Marvin.
Also, lol at the negative nancies who are upset at you. There were plenty of negative things in your post but it STILL wasn't satisfying enough for them just because you praised Kittle and didn't irrationally bash Shanahan 35 times lmao.

Yeah you guys are right we would not of won both Cardinals games the Green Bay Packers game the San Diego chargers game and this Giants game.
Lol ok. Great point POG. Denial is not only a river in Egypt. I am reminded of Biff saying hello McFly is anyone home?

Thoughts on Saleh? I think some criticism for Thomas should be due to the fact he's been completely misused by Saleh to start with. Once Saleh played him inside instead of out he was much more efficient and played a lot better. I think the DC position seriously needs to be looked at going into the offseason. i'm 99.9% sure his job will be fine, but not after year 3 if it's the same lack of improvement and confusion among the defense in the secondary.

It may not be all Kyle's fault, but at the end of this day this is HIS team. Offense and defense are both limited by talent but there's no reason for them to be losing to teams like the Giants or the Cardinals twice.
You're right they should have smoked NY with nick Mullens lol. If you want to look at at team that's run poorly right now it's NY. They have much much more talent then we do and it took them a last min td to beat BDN and a trash backup squad.

I just think peoples "reality" tends to skew in whatever the direction their personal narrative points them in.
IE, if you are a pessimist or a troll, you will always view reality in a negative light (see Cohn, Grant).
If you are on optimist and a homer, you see the good in every player and ignore the negative. It makes you unwatchable and annoying. (see Ryan, Tim).
"Reality" is in the middle. I choose to live there. I don't know if this iteration of the 49ers will be a complete flame out or if it will earn another Lombardi or 2. I don't immediately jump to the conclusion that coaches can't coach and player can't play and I don't immediately jump to rookies being Hall of Famers.
I do make people earn my opinion of them one way or the other, and IMO that should always be "reality".

You lost me 2 years ago when you started whining about the treatment of Kaepernick by Bills fans. Basically implying that Kap had a right to freely express himself but Bill's fans didn't. Very hypocritical of you, not to mention nobody cared about your opinion on the matter since you were supposed to be talking about your thoughts after the game. You know, the game itself.
Plus as proof above, you seem to have issues with peoples opinions you don't like. Maybe you should step aside and let someone else do it.
I was at that game and bills fans were hanging Kap blowup dolls from trees (how's that for racist) they were selling shirts with Kap's face and a bullseye around it. They were punching/tackling Kap dolls saying about every racist thing you could think of. Give me a break with that s**t. Freedom of speech and being a fan is one thing....and then there's been a redneck hillbilly racist that was so graciously excepted by a massive amount of people.
Here's a thought, you don't like Marvin's comments or options don't read them...pretty simple.

Jimmy Gs injury broke me too, already knew the season was lost. Wanted jimmy to grow into shannys system even more with in game experience. Hopefully he's absorbing as much as he can from watching from afar.
So Richie james or Trent Taylor?

Good post. I was amped for this season. Most pumped I've been since last year harbaugh. But f**k, what a disappointment
The players are playing hard for Kyle. He is talented, although, IMO he is too involved in all the details of the offense. He needs to groom a real OC and take on more of a complete leadership role which includes defense. Our defense is too undisciplined. Remember soloman jumping offsides on 4th down in Minnesota?
Kyle is a GREAT oc. But that is a different role than a head coach. I hope he learns this season, and comes back strong. Like I said, guy is talented and the players are still playing their asses off for him
Our first round picks have been so f**king disappointing, and you're right about Brieda. He is a good platoon back. 10-15 carries a game.
Pettis will get better. He also needs jimmy.
