Would you be opposed to this team just completely tanking in hopes of landing Bosa or Oliver? Or do you want to see these guys rally around CJ and try to finish we a respectable record?

Well the first round produces far more Hall of Famers than any other round.

Exactly. I have no doubt this team will compete (heart) but indirectly tank at the same time (incidental).

We can all count on terrible untimely calls against us, players getting legit penalties to shoot themselves in the foot, missed tackles, tons of drops, players not learning from their mistakes, blown coverages, massive number of injuries, piss poor 3rd down offense under BeatHard, etc.

No tanking! It doesn't guaranty that we will get the guy we need since you don't know what the rest of the teams are going to do. Everyone keeps screaming for Bosa but he is going to be out until at least November after abdominal muscle surgery. He may not play the rest of the year. If that happens then drafting him could be a risk which we can't afford to take again. Tanking in hope of getting a certain player is nuts.

Wait, was that laundry list before or after Jimmy got injured? Seems like they all happened before he got hurt (0% 3rd down conversion rate with 8 or more yards) and will likely happen after.

No, no tanking, bad idea, have to go out and try and win, Jimmy's injury hurts but CJ is a good QB IMO, so we'll see.

Good post and I agree that 1st round picks are not always successes.

IMO, we need to get a guy like Ferrel from Clemson.

He will the difference maker we need.

I don't think tanking will be necessary.

The losses will pile up with 100% effort continued missed tackles, blown assignments, and another qb who takes unnecessary hits and questionable pocket presence.
