I agree that we were less competitive in this game than the final score indicated.
We need to clean up our tackling number one. Number two the pics and fumbles. 14 point swing right there.
We werent that competitive in coverage. I feel like our dbs show signs of being fundamentally unsound. Not getting coached up.

Yes, IMO a reciever dropping a pass is more forgivable than a RB fumbling at the goalline. And all it was, was the defender reaching out and swiping with his arm. It wasn't like one of those cases were a defender hits it with his helmet running full speed. Pathetic, pathetic fumble on Morris' part.

It's easy before the season starts to talk about realistic expectations. It's another when the game's start and those emotional reactions come out. All part of being a football fan I guess.
For me, it was nice to see the team not fold despite constant mishaps. Poor execution cost the niners the game. Despite it all the team was in it until the end with some impactful injuries throughout the game and in a tough venue. I expect them to rebound and get their first win of the season next Sunday.

It was a frustrating game, but I kinda expected the end result. That is a damn good team playing at their peak right now.
Also, I think the game looks a lot different if Reuben Foster were on the field. There were several moments where you notice the difference in speed on the field.
Tough game. I think the team will be fine.

Doesn't seem like we were that competitive in this game even if you take the score out of it. Completely dominated in the trenches on both sides of the ball. Couldn't run the ball. Receivers were scared s**tless and couldn't catch in traffic. Jimmy G getting pressure in his face. No execution in the RZ. Honestly, it felt like the Vikings took their foot off the gas when the score was 24-6.
I would say we did not look completely embarrassing against a Superbowl team, so it is a start. But I also don't think competitive is the right word here.
Vikings OL didn't dominate the DL IMO, not at all. They held the Vikings RBs to what 3 ypc? 7 TFL, 3 sacks, 6 QB hits was damn near the same as what the Vikings got on SF (they did have 9 QB hits).
SF was without their stud LBer, on their 3rd string RG, lost their #1 WR and was on the road vs a team that very well could be playing in the SB this yr ( they were the #1 D last yr plus upgraded to it in the off season). They made mental mistakes like drops, two dropped INTs, blown routes, dropped TDs, fumble on the 1 yard line...yet were still in it.
No one thought SF was winning this game, if you did then good for you. They're a young team, MINN is full of seasoned vets. SF needs to get seasoned, we have a lot of young players that are making silly mistakes. they will improve with more reps.

This totally ^^ they were put in positions to succeed, but didn't take advantage of it. IMO it was more SF not executing then the Vikings beating them.

I hear what you're saying, but that's unfair. Teams play different when they're ahead, we don't know what the Vikings would have done if they didn't jump out to a 17-3 lead against a team that couldnt get out of their own way.

The offense still need some help within the Rb,TE and WR.
Some of these catchable balls hurt the team yesterday. They also need some help in the red zone

I disagree the dropped TDs and that horrible fumble by Morris were mistakes that cost the team a win.

LOL, what game were you watching?
49ers- 3.6 ypc, 3 sacks
Vikings- 3.6 ypc, 3 sacks
NT logic- we were dominated in the trenches
