The word we are looking for, gentlemen, is "susceptible". The secondary is susceptible to the occasional "OH, f**k ME!" moment. We want to try and limit that.

The "Ohh I thought he was your guy...good thing he can't catch!" moments.

Our secondary is atrocious and a huge liability (@SoCalNiners)

Overreaction? Yes.

Atrocious? Really?

The 49ers need to take the ball away. That is the area where the secondary needs to step up, for sure. Sam Darnold, Spencer Rattler and Kyler Murray combined for four touchdowns passes and no interceptions in three games.

San Francisco's pass rush can do a much better job of putting pressure on the quarterback, but the defensive backfield generally has held up well. In three games, the opposition is averaging 172 yards passing per game. The 49ers' pass defense ranks third, allowing just 5.6 yards per pass attempt.

That is far from atrocious.

Yea Green has been beyond shaky and it's not much depth behind him. Gonna be some growing pains with so many young guys. Hopefully it starts to come together. We aren't going to be playing these terrible ass non competent teams all year long. s**t the Cards dropped 3 td passes yesterday. Sigle had a really bad game yesterday.

Sigle will need to head to bench when Mustapha comes back.

Nah, what's the point in benching a rookie in a season that's purely about developing our young players? Let him take his lumps. It's not like he's been that bad as our pass defense still isn't allowing that many yards.
Secondary will need to play better throughout the season to offset Bosa's presence.

Mustapha's practice window opens after the Jag game right? Has anyone heard from him?

Lenoir is as advertised, but Green looking quite average according to this data

Green struggling with the big play. Still a work in progress.

Looking quite average as a young CB is still better than what could be. At least he is not looking below average or bad.
He will have a lot of opportunities for growth as teams continue to shy away from Lenoir.

I mean the Bills only have 1 INT, so I wouldn't just puke yet.
Just saw an article: "49ers are using 3 safties, and it's working"
Is it?
What happens when Mustafa gets back? Run a 3-2-6?
Sigle has been great, might have found another gem in the 5th.

the 3rd safety is being used in big nickel packages
4-2-5 (replacing the 3rd LB)
The safety is replacing an extra CB
Safeties can still cover backs and TEs while adding size in case the other team runs

Yes Sigle been good in the run game but he's constantly getting beat by tight ends.
