We've been rebuilding for 3 years. At point we need to see a building in front of us.

The rebuild process restarts every time we hire someone new.

Which seems to be an annual tradition

We've got to be patient and let the process work itself out.

This is a ground up rebuild....it's never been about 2017. I will say this though, if this team continues to play with this much fight we will find a way to win 3 or so games. I'm impressed with the spirit this team has fought with. People want to put penalites on coaches(that's b******t IMO, penalites are always on the player....coaches don't make guys false start and hold...I've always thought that was a b******t narrative), well the coaches need to be given credit for having a team constantly fight.

Very very true.

I'm just saying maybe we shouldn't fire Shanahan and Lynch after one season.

Agree 1000%

Completely new regime with almost 40 new players on the roster. Whatever the last guy had going on has nothing to do with these guys. If his rebuild was successful, he'd still be here.

This is Year 1 of ShanaLynch rebuild.

That's an odd measuring scale...

I see seven touchdowns in the last five games. So about one and a half touchdowns per game... which still isn't very good.

Context of the other games...Seattle, Arizona, Rams and Colts all had the same exact production against us. They just didn't beat themselves like we did.

The fact you even have to say something like this shows how ridiculous some people's expectations are. It's like they've never seen how the nfl works.

Pretty much.

Here are the 49er rebuilds over the last 40 years:

1979 - the OG Walsh dynasty build
1999 - the end of the Dyansty walsh/Donahue cap hell rebuild
2005 - The rollin with Nolan rebuild
2011 - Harbs rebuild
2015/16 - fake rebuild forced by ill advised Harbs departure/firing(Big f**king waste)
2017 - Shanny/Lynch

Thanks for the lesson. I got it
Maybe we're saving reps on Hyde because he's part of the trade to Indy for Luck

His usage was odd today

I wasn't sure.

If you get it then its reasonable to expect that this wasn't going to be a 10-6 team that went to the playoffs this year. These guys to their credit didn't apply a band-aid, they blew the roster up and started a full rebuild, it will take time and this is Year 1.

This was seriously a 88/89 cowboy Landry to Jimmy Johnson type blow up.....we now just need to find a Vikings to give us a Herschal Walker trade

That team went from 3-13(Landry last year) to 1-15 to 7-9 to 11-5 to 13-3 to 12-4. This is the goal.

So, I guess a Hyde extension isn't coming anytime soon.

I didn't know you can only score when they do. That could be our problem if our o and d has to gage the other team's production to determine how much they'll play.
Well, the good news is that two of four winless teams beat the others (and you have to think the Giants will win a few before the end of the season). Having the Chargers and the Colts off the schneid improves the Niners prospects for the draft significantly. Chicago may win a game tomorrow against the Vikings, since the latter often don't perform well when they have to play outdoors. If only the Browns can win a couple of fluke games, the Niners will be in the catbird seat come the draft, with a whole bunch of QB-hungry teams willing to mortgage the future for one of the guys they covet. Could be an intense bidding war. Especially if the Niners secure Cousins as a FA prior to the party.

Look, we will need at least 10 or 11 decent-to-outstanding players to repair the damage Baalke took several years to wreak on the team. While the jury is out on several of the young players, it's pretty clear there are 3 gaping holes on the OL (4 when Staley retires, which he could after this season). We'll need at least 2 LBs, 2 CBs, a #1 WR, an edge rusher, and better depth an several positions.

Some of these spots may be filled in FA, but the Niners will need to rely on at least a couple of excellent drafts to fill most of the vacuum.
