Lynch's nervous thigh stroking during presser...should be over that now.

It's refreshing to hear Kyle talk football. The guy is ahead of the curve and isn't afraid to break trends. His replies about #1 WR and feature backs were awesome.
Lynch is no dummy. He only latch on as a GM because of Kyle. When your HC knows his s**t and can tell you what to look for at every position on the team. Makes the job clear and without too much of a guessing game.

Good point. One thing he said in the interview is that when he was on the Tampa Bay Buc's team, he took advantage of coaching with Monte Kiffen and learned as much as he could of the Tampa Two defense (very similar to what Seadderall plays and what Saleh's been coaching). So I'm hoping he knows what he's looking for on defense and it really helps him to have a GM that's played at a Hall of Fame level DB and knows the Kiffen defense inside and out. I'm predicting that in the 2018 draft, we'll find our Dean/Haley/Aldon 2.0 and have another dynasty run! Then agian, I predicted Kaepernick going to the Hall of Fame.

Except her...she never makes mistakes and is always right. LOL

You are going to be married a long time if you keep acting that way!

Or it may seem like a long time? LOL!

Just about every OC worth his salt study defenses first before taking what they know on offense to better attack the defenses. Kinda like qb reading defenses. Though the OC is much more all encompassed and deliberate in his attack. Mike telling his son to not worry about offense too much and just study the defenses —Kyle has a good Papa
Most intelligent young coach in football. Period.

He's just an X's and O's junkie. I think the players sense that and kinda feel like they go into games with a schematic advantage.

I've wanted this guy in some form or fashion since 2014 (as OC for his dad here at that point). I'm still just so f**king stoked we got him.

Glad we didn't/couldn't get him pre 2016. He wouldn't had the experience of going to battle in the SB against one of the best in Belichick and Brady. It was Kyle graduate thesis. He wasn't the winner but he passed as a SB capable HC

Quite right. Walsh started off on the defensive side with the Raiders under AL Davis so, you are right in that respect. Shanahan Sr. Also started with AL Davis. I think AL Davis is an underrated coach. He and his organization has won 3 super bowls, and if you look at the AL Davis defense of old, you see the Seifert defense, and lots of similarities to the Kiffen defense. The Oakland Raiders in their heyday were known for an attacking type of defense, not a read and react defense. Key to those defenses is the edge rushers. AL had Lyle Alzado and Howi Long, Walsh had Dean and Haley, Harbaugh had Aldon. Kyle? We shall see....

Al Davis was a pro head coach for only 3 seasons, and that was before the AFL-NFL merger.

Madden and Tom Flores were offensive specialists and Al never hesitated to tell his coaches what he thought about stuff. If you look at how Madden and Flores operated, that's classic Gillman long ball offense that Al worked with when he was with Gillman, and those defenses are Al's personality. Al's personality was "You give Al an inch, he'll take a mile." He loved attacking defenses, he wasn't one to sit back and *read and react* - no, he attacked and took it away from you.

Agreed, and all of us should be so excited. Kyle is light years ahead of anything we've had around these parts at HC since his father was OC. No one is perfect and dude is going to make some mistakes, but largely we have one of, if not the best HC's (and FO's) in the game. I get that we as 49ers fans were all burned (or scorched) by the varying ineptitude of most of his predecessors (going back to Mooch at the least), but there has been zero justifiable reason for pessimism since KS and JL showed up. Folks would have to go pretty far out of their way to be pessimistic and a few here have. There is no doubt in my mind that with KS at the helm we will get at least Lombardi #6, and then some.
