49ers Head Coach Kyle Shanahan Thread

Lest we have to bring up the Trey Lance trade. Kyle orchestrated the worst trade in NFL history when you look at what was given up for what you got....

That's not even an exaggeration. It was the worst in NFL history.

Without Brock purdy he's already gone by now. Him and lynch both.

Every year without a SB he slides further down the list of top coaches...

Kyle has his issues but there isn't a perfect coach in the NFL. Other than McVay there probably isn't anyone better. Although I'm partial to Harbs I can see why people would say he's not better. The roster just lacks talent. He needs a new GM. Or if Kyle is the one calling the picks he should be banished from the war room.

I agree we need to have better drafts. More so the first 3 rounds. We can't keep having so many misses in those rounds and keep getting bailed out by later picks.

Lol no he does not. Only some select 49er "fans" think less of Kyle. The rest of the NFL or more importantly the Defensive Coordinators who he faces say he is the best. Agreed we made the worst trade ever and because of great coaching we are still relevant. Feels great to have a coach thats able to take a swing that big miss and still be a contender.

I thought Kyle was the one that wanted Mac but Lynch wanted Lance?

Kyle was hired for his offensive mind and for his teaching acumen towards players and other coaches. He was not hired for his ability to be a GM. Lynch was hired to coexist with Shanahan and to be the face of the football operations. Jed is more than pleased with both of them and he is constantly extending them as would I if I were owner. At the same time I would step in to save them from themselves when need be as we have seen at points and times here recently

I will roll with Kyle any day. When we can keep a competent QB healthy we have been in the playoffs annually and even this year with the bandaid crew we still here. What are we complaining about?

This is just speculation. There is no concrete information about the inner workings of our front office and that decision.

There is some information that allows us to form theories about what might have happened, but in the end they are just theories.

I am all about giving props to Brock but not sure Lance even leaves for a while without Brock taking over as QB1? Lance needed more time to heal when Jimmy went down and idk, ima trying to think who they would have had instead of BP as third string, if they never had him join the team. And if that third string didn't perform well, who they would have brought in?

Maybe it was one of the worst trades, partly because Brock just 1 upped everyone and made it look easy. Not to say Lance didn't have his challenges, cause he does. But Brock came, took over...and at that time, Sam came in and also was performing better than Lance..
and Lance became the third wheel and to make an awkward situation go away so to speak, they cut him. NFL is cut throat. But the whole situation was awkward, disastrous but awesome at the same time lol..cause we got BP. I felt bad for Lance..but it's just how the chips fell.

But as far as Trey performance wise, I trust Lance to be a good rusher, cause he is but never trusted him as a thrower/processor..idk maybe needs more reps lol. (I didn't watch the Broncos/LA game so idk how he did..but Ima seeing only 3 points..it was against Den though).

Oh b******t. Took freaking Andy Reid 20 yrs and now you all get tight in the pants over him. No one is taking Doug Peterson over Kyle yet that's your criteria for who's good and who's not

There were other ways of finding a competent starter, especially in our offense, besides relying on Lance and Purdy. FFS, we have had three other QB's with starting success on our roster in this same time period.

That's not even factoring what we don't know about who pushed for who behind closed doors before selecting Lance in the '21 draft.
